Huge tech lead on everyone we know.
We don't rule the demographics. On Monarch. WTF?
Need land developed much, much faster. So every city does Workers NOW! Gross inefficiency spotted: moving two Workers to road a tile - error corrected where possible; won't happen again. Planning to switch to Monarchy after new Workers get to work (approximately 6 turns).
Units being built in cities without Barracks. So I build more Barracks for you guys to use. They can be sold once we build Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Somebody didn't use the lux slider. Somebody used too many scientists, so cities couldn't grow. Error corrected.
Over 500gp in treasury. Set research to 90%. Feudalism in 28 turns, at -26gpt. Definately building some Libraries. We'll get the cash back in trades.
I see the Spanish are dying. Continue extermination. We can milk others for cash.
270 AD
The French start the Great Wall.
290 AD
Found Faust's Revenge near Trondheim.
300 AD
After rallying troops, we enter Spanish territory again. They land an Archer near Grendpa's Pearl O'Mine. Dispatched by a passing Horseman and a Spearman.
310 AD
Attack Seville. Lose 1 Regular (OMFG) Swordsman, kill a Spearman and 2 Archers.
Attack Santiago. Lose 1 Swordsman, capture the city.
Dolphin Runner finds a green border. It's the Aztecs. They are, you guessed it, just another backward civ.
Pearl's Pleasure Draft (wow, what a name full of different meanings... ) finds a yellow border. It's the Egyptians. Even more backward than the Aztecs. And just look at the picture below.
Tip for Grandpa: Halting growth by using entertainers early on is suicide. Assigning scientists, might be good, depending on circumstances. But usually later in the game, or in very corrupt cities, not in your friggin core! Use the lux slider! Build Workers or Settlers, if cities get to maximum population! Sorry Maki, had to let this go.Last edited by Modo44; December 2, 2004, 06:20.Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

Keep apologizing for entering various "private" waters. Oh well, it's not like they can do anything about it.
320 AD
We have 31 Workers now, quite enough methinks. Anarchy!
Attack and capture Seville. No losses.
330 AD
Enter Spanish lands near Toledo.
Kahlua Explorer ends turn noticing black borders.
340 AD
Capture Toledo. Lost the other Regular Swordsman. Oh well.
Kahlua Explorer meets the Zulu people. They don't even know Alphabet.
350 AD
Pearl's Pleasure Draft finds two unclaimed islands to the east of Persian lands. Worth claiming as staging grounds for invasions, methinks.
360 AD
(Auto)raze Murcia. 2 Swordsmen lost in the process.
Capture Madrid.
So much for the Spaniards.
Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

360 AD (continued)
Dolphin Runner finds the Hitties. They have the Republic, they don't have Currency nor Contruction. We don't need the Republic, so we don't trade.
Kahlua Explorer finds the Iroquis. They too have Republic, while lacking Currency and Construction. Might be they know the Hitties.
370 AD
Pearl's Pleasure Draft finds some red borders across the ocean. Who might that be?
380 AD
Waterbowl completes a Harbor during Anarchy. Nothing like a timed Forest Chop.
The English start the Great Wall.
Pearl's Pleasure Draft meets the Japanese people. They are backward, and they agree that the Viking achievements deserve a reward. They give us 84gp for Alphabet. Oh, yeah. Their forces outnumber us.
390 AD
Chief Modo establishes a new form of government - Monarchy. Now he's King. Not that anyone notices, being busy busy busy - building things again.
400 AD
Dolphin Runnder meets the G(r)eeks. They have Feudalism and Republic and won't sell anything.
410 AD
Managed to bring the Vikings back up in the Demographics, although only in Mfg. Goods for starters.
And so, Modo retires (again ).

AD 410: Trade Code of Laws to France for 50gp (ath). One more turn of Feudalism! (-43gpt)
AD 450: Feudalism! Aquire Monotheism from the Koreans and 39gp from them too. Trade Monotheism to Greece for ... 20 GPT and 80 gp! They won't give us republic, but they'll give us enough gold to get invention without stressing about it!
That's it for this AM, I'll finish tonight after work<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

AD 460: Kahlua Explorer makes contact with the Chinese, and trades Code of Laws for 50gp (ath). Also, gets some chinese sailors drunk on a new mixture of alcoholic beverages and Chinese Tea, making what will later be called the "Long Island Iced Tea" by one tribe of earth denizens.
AD 490: Trondheim begins a prebuild for Leonardo's Workshop, through Sun Tzu's War Academy. The intent is to mass-build archers who upgrade into Berserks, and save 50% on the upgrade costs with the Workshop, hence making it immediately more useful than the War Academy (and more likely to be built - with 30 other civs *scratch that* 22 other civs, we have a lot of competition) (I guess several have been wiped out already )
AD 500: Kahlua Explorer continues her good luck by discovering the Sumerians, a vast tribe of infidels known mostly for their cheap clay tools and bejewelled rulers. They give us 13gpt and 20gp for Code of Laws, a massive overpayment that makes us wonder as to their military intentions. Still, they are far far away and not a concern at the moment, given they're about 20 techs behind us. Korea offers us 70gp for furs, which we gladly accept, given they're one of 2 countries who can take them. Persia offers 13gpt and 50gp for Philosophy, which is of course accepted. Zulus don't have Alphabet, so we take pity on them and gift it to them, hoping to gain one of their 12 (!) silks when they discover something useful like navigation. (Or when we gift it to them ) These deals all told have left us only -8gpt when at max (80%) science!
AD 510: In a wave of fanfare and celebration, Red Baron, the first of our new Combat Galleys, has left the shores of the Viking Nation with one goal: Landing on the Mongol shores. Although this ultimate destination has yet to be *officially* revealed, it's obvious to anyone who is anyone that this stepping-stone to future greatness must first be achieved: the conquest of Mongolia.
AD 530: Viking warriors make the shores of Mongolia for the first time, landing on the hills 112 of Darhan (89 of their ivory city Hovd). No war is declared ... yet. Red Baron returns for more hungry Viking warriors. Dolphin Runner makes contact with Germany, who has nothing of value either technically or monetarily - no luxuries other than Wines (0) ...
AD 550: Celts complete Great Wall. Persians appear to have the same idea we do, and moved a large troop near Hovd. Both Medieval Infantry were moved next to the city in the hopes that the Persian attack is repulsed, but barely - so we can capture the city. However, it's a 1 size city, so perhaps a Settler would be more worth our while ... so Toledo changed over to a Settler, which is ready for you next turn to settle on the ivory. Having a second lux will be HUGE...Last edited by snoopy369; December 2, 2004, 22:13.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

The Sacred Save. I would implore my successor, GrandpaTroll, to desecrate the name of the Mongol Nation with all of his might ... until the Persians are plump, anyhow. And don't forget about the Archer -> Berserk upgrade - and the fun, fun, fun you can have with Amphibious units (ie the Berserker! ) I'm thinking a 30 unit archer prebuild, and then once invention hits and then Leonardo's Workshop is created with the Sun Tzu prebuild at Trondheim, you can cheaply upgrade the 30 unit archer prebuild (and maybe do some quick cash, 80% cash 20% luxuries for a few turns, should be a few hundred?) ... 30 berserk, on a dozen or 15 galleys, would be enough to take any city basically without opposition ... (And remember, when fighting with loaded galleys, keep your strongest galleys unloaded - ie, your Elite galleys should be empty, so they take the first hits and you don't lose any men to sunk ships. I recommend 1 empty elite or veteran galley for every 3 loaded ships - but do what you can. I haven't seen many AI ships anyhow.)Attached Files<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
