I just started a game with Japan on a huge map. A little training, just in case.

Next time just build veterean units, and I won't scream. I promise.

I know, I know. The "one more turn" syndrome got me. I realised it was too late for a war, but only after I had two Chinese cities taken.

Ok, trying Japan on a huge map was too easy, so I went with Korea. This one plays quite different early on (with both Barracks and Temples at double cost, compared to Japan). I found this was actually good for REXing without mercy.

We are going very well indeed with Carthage, so I suggest we use the AU mod for the next game. Just to spice things up a bit.

And back on topic... King Beta, where are you?

Well thank you. Most people enjoy it, until they become the subject of that thinking.

Had another thought on the next game. How about we make it a pangea and start in the middle (like in one of the PBEMs I'm in )? The usual late medieval world war would surely be something to look forward to.

The reign of Beta II, the Idiot King got off to a very slow start ........

(my apologies folks. I was very busy last week, and saved the game to play this weekend when I would have more time. And I forgot completely about it. Maybe it was the new 30 inch wide screed HDTV that did it. Or maybe the world series. I'm not sure. But I do apologize, and I will play it this evening.)

......the Idiot King's early reign was governed by a series of advisors, who were loathe to do anything that may get them executed on a whim. But when Beta II reached the age of 25, his intellectual and emotional development advanced sufficiently that he took command of the empire, and struggled to regain the reputation his great-grandfather had established.
