Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Ok, I've already got a few in mind. And I can assure you it won't be seafaring, and since I doubt the others will choose seafaring either, coastal starts probably won't be an issue
So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste

So are you saying that you won't be choosing an Ag civ?

Who are "Carwyn" And "Meowky" and why are they part of the Iron Civer CivGroup? Shouldn't entry be restricted to Iron Civer participants and administrators?

One of the lesser known clauses in the rules states that if the second player to finish wins their game by volutary submission of the final opponent, they shall be limited to a choice of tribe between America or Portugal, so no, he won't.
I won't sabotage the map against ag civs, as I'm aiming for a no holds-barred straight-up knock-down brawl between the best players with stock rules. I'll do random settings (climate/temp/age) to throw a little uncertainty out there. There might be a little strategic resource editing also...

Presumably you'll do that and also pre-allocate start positions before you know the civ choices.
But still a Pangea?

There's also some "Beta" character out there. They're all pending authorization. Where do we draw the line in the sandbox here?

No allocation of starts on my part- I'll generate the map and if any of the starts look significantly imbalanced, I'll regenerate. If there happen to be seafaring tribes, I'll have to check to make sure they get coastal and restart if not.
Yes, still Pangaea to keep the same basic theme, but with only 60% water so there is more land to build and manouver on.
Does anyone (Sir Ralph, you out there?) know what the ideal size map supposedly is for 4 players?
How about having a mildly equal resource distribution for a tournament game? It's my favorite item to whine about, BUT WITH VERY GOOD REASON!

Arnelos, how many times do I have to reiterate the fact that its all about the rules?
*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta
It looks as if alexman is the second challenger to vanquish all of his opponents after smellymummy apparently surrendered in the face of overwhelming force...
The awarding of his Coliseum's prize will take place after his return from abroad.
The map for the championship round has been drawn up and awaits the resolution of the final two Coliseums. It has been carefully prepared and, well I don't know if 'balanced' is exactly the word, but I'm looking forward to watching the game develop...
