As per orders. Medicine showed up so I attached nationalism to it. We'll have the tech next turn. The only difference I made was that I changed the New Voice WF to the railroaded hill tile. Between that and one of the grasslands being railed it shaves a turn off the aqueduct build. Once we have the aqueduct in place and can irrigate those tiles then NV can get up to size 8 and roughly 20spt.

Our little civ is starting to cook. I guess I can be patient for aqueducts and railroads. Just call me a nervous Nelly. Been surprised one too many times.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Hey all we need to do is keep our mouths shut and our eyes open

        And keep building

I know. I want more military too...but if we don't get those aqueducts up now then we won't be able to grow and have more production capability. 15-20 turns and then most of them will be up and we can concentrate on military for a while.

Actually, if we get that deal from ND for 50gpt then we'll get a few of those aqueducts up sooner.

There has been some discussion somewhere that we think Lego is going to be the focas of an attack. Which if it happens we will of course get drawn into it.

I think we are trying to prepare to defend ourselves by building up our economy and infrastructure so we can.

I think thats the point, we are well along in rebuilding our civilization but have a ways to go. Hopefully the build out will be finished BEFORE someone trys to do something.

Thats the real question, do we have enough time to build up an efficient economy that is good enough to give us the production we need to defend ourselves and eventually take the fight elsewhere when and if it happens.

                    • Con hit the nail on the head. We're hoping we have the time to build. Once we have the aqueducts and rails and irrigation up and running then we'll be better prepared to build units for defending ourselves. Until that time we have to rely fully on Lego, which is also why I'm trying to get the railroad network available so that they can get cavalry anywhere in our core with a ROP to defend us.

                      • I was just doing a bit of thinking about future planning. Once we have electricity from GS then our growth will start shooting up quickly. The first thing I want to do is irrigate one (and only one) of the grasslands near Hope. At size 4 and working the fish tile, the railed hill, one railed irrigated grass and one mined grass then that city will produce 5fpt and 5spt...perfect for a 2-turn worker pump.

The first thing to do with all those workers (along with the ones we have currently) is to get our rail network to every city and around every city for Lego to be able to access our whole island for defense. The second thing we do is to irrigate all those plains tiles around Seabiscuit and Phoenix and the grasslands of New Voice and Renewal. All those cities can use the irrigation to grow to size 12, as well as using that growth to nearly double the shield output of each city (most should get to 10 shields...New Voice should get to 20).

Once all the railing and irrigating is done (along with some mines on mountains in select cities) then all those workers can join with the cities that will not grow easily (Resurrection, Memory, Irony, Eternity, and Panama Vox) to bring them up to size 12 as well. Marketplaces in every city will be key by that time as we'll need 4 luxuries with the marketplace bonus to be able to avoid the slider. If we have to use it for a while then we have to, but it's for that reason alone why I've been building up those future luxury options in our trading.

Hope will continue to be the breadbasket of our nation for the time to come and produce only workers. It will take a lot of workers to get our five no-growth cities up to size 12. But with a 2-turn pump it will go much quicker than the 4-turn and recently 3-turn pump that Hope has been. It will take about 30 more workers beyond the ones we already have to bring every city to it's max.

We'll obviously never be able to truly compete with the big guys, but another 20-30 turns or so and we'll have some pretty decent commerce and production capacity.

Per orders with a few modifications. ND sent us 50 gold (not 50gpt). But if they send us 50 gold each turn we research communism then it's the same thing. I also made a WF change. With New Voice now working the railroaded hill to the NW, I switched Seabiscuits hill over to the one NV used to work and switched a coast tile in Memory to the horse hill. It shaves 4 turns off the aqueduct in Memory and only costs one commerce point.

I forgot to take a screenshot, but it's basically the same as last turn.
