  • Did you notice that in 4 turns we are going to have a baby boom ? (all of our cities will grow in the same turn).

    • Tibi, were you able to check if my "barbarian response" plan works in the simulator? I believe it is correct but any error/oversight might cost us dearly.

I've caught some nasty flu and spent most of today in bed, pretty much unable to do anything meaningful... just sleeping. Adding an entry to the chronicle and presenting the defense plan against the barbs was the most I was able to whip myself to...

Everybody, make sure that the plan works and if it does, make it a ministerial order, please (redstar, you are still the M.A., remember?! Our units move the way YOU order them to).

      • I forgot to tell that my test proved that you were right. Well, I didn't really forget, but at first it took me a while to update the Lego-simulator and then I was waiting for an answer to my post in the "Legoland Simulator" thread, where I was asking if somebody could upload it. I wanted to have others too testing the scenario (barbarians included).

I can send it to you, so you can check it for yourself and maybe you could host it?

PS I wish you a quick recovery from your flu. I'm sure I will say something stupid, but: "Na vas'e zdraví !"

        • I haven't run a sim, but your calculations look right. Good plan. And I like your name for the new Merc.

          • Agree with:

            Howard S
            Gaul S
            Angus+Settler NW

However, perhaps Conan should move south instead as that would uncover 2 squares and still leave him beside the mountain.

MercG to move either to Legopolis or to Jackson asap.

Legopolis to build a Merc is probably right - unless you think that it may be a good time to build a granary now... IMHO, not yet a good time especially with the new cities and the barbs around - besides we should send the new Merc or MercG to Farmerville as its garrison.

            • As far as builds, I would like to put forward one last cry for building a few more warriors.

Yes, they take up maintanence; yes, they aren't in a particularly good upgrade chain. But that isn't really the point; they're cheap units that are great at driving away barbs, whether as escorts or attackers. And I think the two warriors showing up on Jackson's doorstep show the Barbarians are out there now, and they aren't interested in stopping in for tea...

              Anyway, end mini-rant.

              • Well, at any rate, we may wish to station a warrior in the mountains north of the Sandbox to prevent any further barbarian encampments from arising. Having a shadowed area that close to one of our cities isn't too good a thing.
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

Well, either way, everything around will be uncovered a turn later, wehn Conan climbs the mountain... could be both...

First to Legopolis and then along the road to Jackson, right. We must make no mistake here, as if MercG does not arrive to Jackson in exactly three turns, we are risking having our Jackson improvements pillaged by the barbarians.

Nooooooo! Let the barbarians grow! I would even be in favour of establishing a barbarian "reservation" in the area... every barbarian encampment is 25 gold. That's a LOT (just have a look at how much gold we have in our treasury). I am actually quite happy to know now that the barbarian setting is not None - with the difficulty level of Chieftain, barbs are just pushovers. Even our warriors would dispose of them easily, not mentioning Mercs. Let's just station two extra units in Jackson and "harvest" 25 gold every time the barbs manage to regrow!

                      • OK, the chronicle has been updated for 2470BC. For the next turn, I think there is very little to discuss:

                        1) Mercs to follow the barb-response plan (Merciless to fortify himself in Jackson, MercG to follow the road to Jackson - SE+E+NE)
                        2) worker to seek protection in Jackson
                        3) Howard to keep returning (S)
                        4) Angus+Settler to proceed to the Panama site (NW)
                        5) Conan to climb the mountain (S)
                        6) Gaul to push southwards (S)

'cause if he was not, he would look at the first post in the Who is going to play our turn thread and find it there, drawing no attention...
