darn! I can't get it to work! Where it says "(10) Peace Treaty" I clicked, double-clicked everything but nothing happens.

I can declare war on the other civs but not against Vox Controli. Calc II, did you check with this civ and the latest .sav?

Yep - I also checked the game...you cant do it.

We will need two more turns to declare war.

The quickest way is to do what MZ says....ship over a horseman (Upload from the city), and offload on the same turn , and then pillage a road.

OR--- Here is a better way. We ship over a horseman , and capture the worker.
Move the worker 1 square, and let Vox capture it back the next round.

But like I say...we dont have to have the game mechanics to show we are at war, to be at war.

We can claim we have seen the settler/spears, and are moving our horsemen into position for attack. No-one would attack a stack of 3 units with 1 horsemen. The story is believable.

I agree with H_E, I think the whole landing a horseman thing is too complicated (that's why I edited it out), but it's still an alternative

We can always claim we can't declare war because the game doesn't let us and we have no troops close to the landing ground.

BTW, from the Foreign Advisor screen you can't tell which civs are at war with each other (except ours) so I don't see how they could tell anyway...

(10)Peace treaty means we negotiated a peace treaty 10 turns ago and that we have 10 more turns left until we can legitimately declare war. Theres a 20 turn interval where you may not legitimately declare war and any action you do to declare war takes a rep hit (in SPDG of course). So this means we negotiated peace treaty not long enough for mandatory 20 turn peace. Which means theoratically, we will be breaking the deal.

We have to declare war in an aggressive fashion then (pillaging, stayin on the territory, attacking unit etc) We cant declare war in an non-rep hitting way.

I dont have the latest sav. Where can i get it?

I had tried everything possible and it wouldn't let me renogiate/break a treaty or anything. I suggested Vox land a warrior over here for us to attack but hadn't thought of pillaging a road.

Operation MacArthur

This is to advise the world's nations that Vox Controli has returned to the continent. We have tried to negotiate a mutually-beneficial agreement with the continental nations, but as of yet have not reached such a comprehensive agreement.

We come in peace. But we come in force.

Our claim is to the small portion of the north-west corner of the continent. We can discuss this rationally, and we will explain our needs for a maximum settlement of five cities - fairly tightly packed. We can even agree on city placement, and we will sign an agreement that this will be the extent of any claim we have on the continent. We would also ask that the city of Wittlich West be peacefully returned to its rightful owners - the Voxian people. We are willing to come to any reasonable agreement on this matter.

However, we are willing to defend our claim to this land. In fact, the operation is so named as the last Vox leader to leave the continent after our earlier expedition claimed "People of Wittlich West - I will return". He is committed to staying this time. And Vox Controli has ensured that he has the military backing to keep that commitment.

If war is the path chosen, such a war of attrition will only serve to weaken all the nations involved - at the expense of those involved. So, I plead for reason to prevail in this matter. Let peace and prosperity carry the day.

We need to post a declaration of war, with an explanation of the technicality that we can't. Here's a try:

Glory of War Public Announcement - Operation De-MacArthur

The Glory of War declares war on Vox Controli for attempting to land on the continent Bob.

However, game mechanics prevent us from actually declaring war until we attack Vox. As we have not, in the game we are not technically at war. This will change as soon as we have an oppertunity to attack.

Panzer - I think the 2nd part is showing perhaps some pre-planning.

Lets just declare war.

Then as soon as we get the save, exclaim in the public forum that we cant because the game wont let us. Play dumb, and ask for help.

No-one would believe the GoW team just quiety writes up a declaration.

In view of the recent events which have suddenly occured which compromise the security of our continent, The Glory of War declares war on Vox Controli for attempiting to land once again on the continent Bob. We find it intolerable and unacceptable that having once attempted such a foolish adventure, Vox has the nerve to do it again, knowing especially that it will be met with overwhelming opposition.

We were willing to respond to Vox's previous landing with a slight degree of tolerance. No such thing will be given by The Glory Of War this time around. Such a blatant act of aggression will not go unpunished. Claiming that this is a righteous act of peace is not only the utmost of hypocracy but also of foolishness.

However, game mechanics prevent us from actually declaring war until we attack Vox. As we have not, in the game we are not technically at war. This will change as soon as we have an opportunity to attack and drive the invaders back into the sea.
