IMHO, you will always need to have some defense in interior cities. The reason is that you can't risk the lucky shot. As you have to protect your coast fully, and an attacker can focus on 1 point, the defender can never have so many infs that he is sure there is no risk that one of his cities won't fall. Hence the need for some defense.

BTW, that classical doughnut attack was not against undefended cities (and it was a member from GoW, H_E, who performed it on a Lego guy), but against very poorly defended cities. It just used a ton of cavs, as there were no tanks available. And the reason was the need for uranium to construct the last part of the spaceship...

Oh, and teleporting transports? I don't know what happens. If they would teleport, they would surely help in constructing a chain, however are we going to use teleportation again? I don't think the others will like it, not after the fuss they made last time

Didn't RP had a galley when we performed the cat gift technique? But that city was given to us, not razed.

It's not so much abuot using the possible city-raze-teleport as an exploit, so much as that the way this is set up we will probably only have enough moves to move in to the city, not back out again. So if we have to raze the city to build one next to it for access purposes, it'd be nice to know in advance what is going to happen. If there is teleporting involved, I don't think we should be barred from disbanding the city for other purposes if we can't move the transports back out before hand.

ah, very true, vulture. But let's not use that as an excuse...

For those not reading the defense after marines thread, I've posted some info there on calculations on infantry defenses vs marines and tanks, which should be of interest to those planning the attack. Relevant articles start here

Time to bump this thread... guys, we're running out of time.

We've got 19 turns to D-day, meaning some 16 turns before we declare war and start attacking Lego. Apart from some lose dicussions, we've got no invasion plan in place. We really need this, or we're guaranteed to lose. I'm still working on the numbers first mentioned in the hypothetical thread, but I've got no clue if they're right.

We don't even have a landing spot set out yet, let alone a plan on how we're going to defend the Lego scouts. This is getting critical, as our navy will be finished in the next 5 turns, after which there is little room for extra naval units... This is urgent!

Two things spring to mind in association with this question :

                1. Are GoW actually gonna go with it or not?
                2. Can it be fun?

We'll see what MZ says to the last message trying to get them to agree on the D-Day. Usually he mentions something about nuclear weapons at that point, which may be what he really wants to use against Lego. Too late for any GS hope of victory, but maybe not too late for GoW & ND to take down Lego together.

                  1. I do hope so. Even if their effort is a lot lower then ours, it would be worth it. I'm still assuming it will be

                  2. Yes it can. The Vox war was loads of fun, even if we were in the underdog position, and all the bookies betted against us. But in order for it to be fun, we have to keep the initiative, instead of reacting to others like in the Bobian war. Which means it has to be planned, with real objectives, and backup plans.

I PM'd Aeson asking him if he'd like to rejoin GS for this job.

good idea, CH. I doubt he's interested, but he's more then welcome to rejoin!

I have talked to Dom, but he was unwilling to join, although I never went into detail.

he said that he decided long ago to leave DemoGames, because of the time issues.

Since I have no idea of how they left GS, or rather the reasons for doing so, could you please enlighten me? I can right to all of the people you need/want, to try and get them to return.
