Yes, the timing on this next phase is going to be crucial. The longer Vox ties down our forces... you don't think that.... anyway if we can take Vox soon, or at least take up to Eli, then we can shift fronts when inevitible hammer falls on BoB. And when it falls, its going to hit fast, I don't expect ND to be able to survive for long considering the long fronts on both borders. We have to be in position to hit RP within 3 turns of the break out of that war, or we will lose the window of opportunity. Best case scenario-we blow back the Vox forces to eli. leave some on mop up, shift our knigts back south and load them just in time for the break out of war. We land on madrid a turn later and slap RP silly.

Crazy idea.

I wonder what ND would do if we just gifted feudalism to them. :lol bet that would screw with their minds a bit.

Not only that, we now MUST Have exclusive setteling rights between EoS and the isthmus.
They must relinquish their iron coloney to us because they tried to abuse us with it and now we must control thier ability to make offensive units. We will trade it to them at no cost for the remainder of the game.

To begin with we should just seek out whether they feel that continuing the war is still a good idea. If they bite, then we should report back to Zeit and everyone else.

Should we try to arrange a cease fire for next turn? They no move, we no attack them while we negotiate?

I think the key here is paranoia, let's assume they're pause is part of some larger plan and counter-plan accordingly.

I don't want a cease-fire. A free turn for them to get closer to ready for a pincer movement on Arashi without their southern force taking cat hits is not in our best interest. and with their road finished, Dissidentville will be just as close to Arashi as anywhere they could move within our sight in their next turn will be. Either we reach a peace treaty, or the war is still on.

I am really against NOT making them suffer badly. Not so badly as risking long term health, but we need to get on the offensive and REX like mad up to the isthmus. Once we are on the offensive, we can crank out settelers every other turn while we secure at least the lower half of the contenent. No peace untill vengence!!!

Whatever we do, we must make sure that peace would mean Vox won't be able to seriously threaten us ever again- giving up D'ville and the Iron is a must, we might also consider monitoring the size of the Voxian army.

The thing is- which way out of this do they and we have? if we intend to honor this peace, which we do if we sign it, it has to limit Vox's development to the point where they have no point in continuing playing- no chance of victory, and not much fun either.

There is no way we could actually trust Vox, and i can't see a way Vox would make peace on our terms either.

If they do, go for it, but i can't see them do that.

Unfortunately, zeit, I have come to see that flaw in the plan.

How could we ship 40 units off to RP while Vox is still on our land? I haven't figured out the answer to that one yet.

If we're going to approach Vox at this point, IMHO the best timing would be immediately after they've received the save and realized that they've lost 5HP to catapults, and may lose just as much or more next turn.
Zeit: true, it would really bring out the fun in Vox's game if we put it this way. But perhaps, if we see that they're not biting, we can offer them to go out on military campaigns together and fight alongside eachother. Maybe they'll like this idea - it has good potential to bring them glory, which is what I think they were seeking when they attacked us.

I just can't see Vox voluntarily disarming and withdrawing to the North. They have their pride, and they still have a large army of immortals. They probably think they can win. The time for these demands are after we've smashed their offensive and taken D'ville. But after that, the road to the voice will be open, and we can flood the corridor with wcs and quickly take them, so why give them peace then? They betrayed us, spouted lies about us on the main forum, and we would let them live?

Although I would love a good partner to take on RP, Vox is not that ally, IMO. We couldn't ever trust them again, and there's a bit of a problem with their military strength: if we hurt them badly so they want to play submissive to us, they are of little help on Bob. If we don't hurt them badly, the risk is too big for back stabbing, which they'll do if they smell the chance.

The only possible scenario where the risk would be acceptable would be if we gain all land up to the Neck, at which point it would be more effective for us to simply take all, instead of leaving Vox with a small landsize. It's unfortunate, but they sought it themselves, I want them of our continent. Let them seek refuge in Legoland, for all I care.

I would have liked getting ND as an ally, but it doesn't seem that is going to happen. They are without much doubt talking to GoW, so either that is against RP, or with them against us. in 10 turns time, we might need that army of us to withstand invasions, instead to invading others.
