Well since we have the turn, we may as well at least see what they've done and what we can do to them before sending out any feelers - it won't cost us anything.

I like the idea of an attack on RP as well, not that I've looked at the scenario much. But with an unsuspected sea lane that we can use to reach them for a surprise attack, it is our best chance of getting a good foothold on Bob, especially if they are involved in a war with most of their troops elsewhere.

EDIT: of course, if he is on EST, he's already awake and at work.

Oh, the thought of the save just sitting there... waiting to be opened...

I asked Eli via ICQ what has happened (told him that we have the save but none of our players are online).
He said that they moved nothing within our sight, and basically did nothing except for uniting both stacks in the east (against his opinion... well, actually noone really asked him, he says).

Hmmm....if that's true (and he's got no reason to pull our chain, since we have the save), then I foresee some serious cat-plinkage in our immediate future, at the very least!

If that's all they did then it's good news for us (I think).

What are they waiting for? Do they really think they can bring enough Immortals down to reinforce their stack before we grind them down into dogfood with our cats? (hmm, that's on odd expression at the end of that sentence )

Or are they waiting for some huge Bobian invasion force to arrive?

Dogfood fit for small, yappy-type dogs, no doubt....

So we can hit their main Spinebreaker stack with 6 cat shots this turn. That probably won't do enough damage to justify cutting loose with med infs. But the turn after that, and the turn after that...

Agreed....let's dump a big load of rocks on them at the very least. If we get lots of hits, we might wanna do some additional hammering with our Medievals, either way, they're screwed. The stack will soon be totally unusable.....

I don't think we can do enough damage in one turn to think about an attack. Extremely good scenario: 5 out of 6 cats hit, leaving 6 immortals on 3 hp each. That's not good enough odds for my money - veteran MI attacking, assuming the immortals are now fortified, gives 55% chance of winning (killing 30 shield unit - or are immortals more expensive than swordsmen?) vs 45% chance of losing a 40 shield MI. Okay, due to our production advantage, that improves our situation slightly, on average, but I'd rather wait another turn at least, even if all 6 catapults hit (we need 11 total hits before we are attacking 2 hp units).

Yeah, I want them down to 2hp before attacking.

Hell, if they just sit there, and we don't need the troops for other operations, I'm fine with plinking them down to 1hp each (yeah, it's slow, but it works). The more damage we do, the less pikemen we need to be secure.

Meanwhile, we can deal with destroying their eastern forces & cutting their iron.
