The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits

                  Yep...

But now... it looks like some teams are in place. Let the match begin. (maybe in our lifetime )

                  • Would it be possible for a non-playing third party to host?

Yeah... it's possible. The seventh non team civ would be the host.
His original settler(s) would be off limits to the other players. To keep him interested, the teams would have to give him their maps on a regular basis... He could also act as the ref

                      • If you make it a seven player game. And the impartial 7th player hosts and just keeps a settler, it may work. If one of the civs gives him a defensive unit or two and they just fortify on a mountain so barbs can't kill him, he should be able to survive in the game. Later someone can give him construction for building a fortress.

Damn you Ming, a minute faster. I should type faster.

                        • It is kinda impractical perhaps, but I thought it might be a good way to settle any _cough_ minor disputes that could arise. It would also help when both sides claim victory.

I expect the point is a moot one anyways.

                          • But it would be funny to hear Markus (or substitute any of the others) boasting about how he beat the ref. His trade was cooking and he was getting techs every turn, and the ref only had construction.

                            • I am sure any hypothetical game will be played in good spirit with the winners and losers both doing so gracefully.

                              • No need to protect the settler, we don't play barbs.
