How about this: we just play the game and stop this bs. It's not helping anything. It's over and done.

In case I don't have time to throw this up here over the weekend here goes...

The HOTW crew had a little "tuft" over the course of the past week; were they able to survive this session unscathed?

Speaking of which how's the New World looking now? The Adriatics and Zulus have finally met, will there be a clash or a compramise? A new pact was signed, who were its members? Will there be war again in Africa? What's the latest on the Zulu-Australian front? Was a treaty really denied? Who's got the biggest army? What will happen now that the Medici family is no longer in power? Why does Capo do this?

Find out the answers to these questions and more at our official site, www.geocities.com/history_of_the_world/ , so intense the forums can't hold it!

Plus this week all of you adoring fans will have the opportunity to add to the game as the Europa Movement, the Republican anti-Royalist movement in the Adriatic League chooses its official war-flag. Which one will it be? YOU GET TO DECIDE!!! So that'll be pretty fun to check out.

Plus the usually longwinded and epic posts of Dimbleby, available now at th HOTW official website.

      And that's about it.

      PEACE.

There is a new leader in the military and cities categories. Go check it out and find out who overtook the Zulus (who had previously held the titles for both these categories in all 3 previous weeks of the game!)

Alright there has been a few technical issues with our server at Geocities. We don't know what the problem is so there really isn't any way we can fix it, other than to wait it out.

If the problem persists we may have to change servers, but as of right now we have no plans to do so. Its probably just some temporary issue, but the server sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. So if you get an error message it could be as simple as just hitting reload or waiting a while to view the page again.

We apologize for the inconvenience, the latest posts are up so check em out. Thanks.

I have realized that we are gonna hit the "tech plateau" by the time the game ends, so we can either stop trading techs (except with the Adriatics of course) or we can add in some new units to keep it fresh.

I spoke with Drake and he's cool with whatever we do, Sekong is in favor of the new units if he knows what they will be, and of course its my idea so I'm down with it.

So what do you guys think?

Alrighty folks it is Wednesday night, which means yet another roll call from Il Capo...

Tommorow night at 8:00 pm EST (U.S.) the HOTW Diplogame kicks off with more diplomatic insanity! A lot has happened since last session and this one looks to be a great one. With the infusion of many nations into the Americas something looks like its gonna break! Who's it gonna be? On top of that alliances seem to be the soup de jour, with the Mediterranean Pact, and the new Triple Alliance in Asia, how will the rest of the world react? The Republican movement has already taken hold in Australia and the Zulu Nation, will it claim another victim?

Its all gonna come to a head, and the following douchebags will be thre to make it happen...

Drake "Don't Hate the Player Hate the Game" of the Zulus.

Dimbleby "The Chillin" of the Fightin' Isrealites.

War4 "Chaka" Khan of the Mongolian Hordes.

Prometheus "The Small" of the Cha Cha Cha Chinese.

Se- "King" -Kong of the Mali.

Deity "The Orange" of the Aussie Posse.

And of course, Il "He's just here to fix the uh, pipes honey" Capo of the Fanatic Adriatics.

And that's pretty much it. Peace.

Deity is consistently impressed with Paul’s performance.

The illiterate folk from broken Hill are hauling in the techs with GL.

Triremes with settlers have arrived in South America and established two new towns on the West coast including the Zulu described Gold Coast. We made contact with the Zulus, who, after some initial diplomatic blunders (on their part!) accepted a peace treaty. They even offered 50 gold! But why, I’m not sure? Paul took it anyway He’s like that!

The Aussies remain the supreme power but with other civs establishing so many cities Deity suspects Paul may have to carefully consider his expansion program. It is imperative that all other nations recognise Aussies rights to substantial areas in the Americas. The following map shows the Aussies claims.

A strong alliance has been forged with the Mongols and Chinese. Much tech sharing has occurred and a great friendship prevails. It is also imperative that significant areas of North America are available for the Chinese, in particular, to settle.

Paul has had words with El Capo Diego who does not respect the Aussie claim.

We started out on a lump of a desert island and seek to claim rather poor land in South America. I seek the counsel of my allies and other wise leaders of the world.

The Adriatic league started in the lush valleys and grasslands of Europe. And still have much land to settle in the old country. Yet, El Capo says he will fight for land in America!

Does the rest of the world feel that Paul's claim is reasonable?

We warn the world of the volatile and unreasonable behaviour of the League.

We will negotiate boundaries with civilsed and respectful nations only.....

First point; I am not a spaniard it is Il Capo not El Capo.

I never said I am going to fight you, what I said was I do not respect this claim on the grounds that it is not fair to anyone else.

If I were to make a huge land claim the way you did I would be laughed at, and the same should occur to you, except you have half the world in an alliance which will support this ridiculous land claim.

My stance is that the new world is open season, whoever settles what gets it. If you want to fight for land that is your choice to do so, I simply said that I would settle anywhere I deem plausable and if one chooses to fight me based solely on where I place my settlements, then I would be more than willing to accomodate them.

But for you to assume that you can just go out of your way and make land claims is unfair to me, and is pesonally dispariaging to me and my people. To further believe you can make these claims based on your power and my relative weakness compared to that power is yet another insult, and then to base this huge claim on the fact that you have a very strong alliance is further evidence that you might intend on using violent means to achieve this claim.

It is unfair that you get the opportunity to make a claim and expect everyone else to agree to it, that is what I am saying, and I believe every nation on this planet including your allies would agree with that.

I do not bow down to anyone, including whoever happens to be on top, expecting me to agree to your every whim is quite insulting as well.

                    -Adriatic League.

Your map also differentiates with the original zulu agreements that you made. Our understanding was that South America was to be divided in two on a straight line. This means that your original line that youve drawn from the tip of South America should go straight through the entire continent to the top. This is what Shakeem agreed to and he will not honor your claim in eastern S. America. Although most of this land is made up of jungle, the resources there are numerable. Shakeem also wants to remind Consul Keating, that real estate in Southern Africa is very limited and our expansion into the new world will not be covering the Northern America. That being said, if you insist upon retaining your claim in S. America, we will be forced to migrate there (N. America). We do not desire this, so don't make the mistake of forcing us into an akward situation.

The wide range that is claimed is almost as ridiculous as Shakeem claming that Canada is his. Consul Keating, we wish the best of luck to you, but you're in a dream world if you think the rest of the world will bow to your wishes........

Also, if you wish to complain of god given land, please take a look at China and Israel. Israel is sandwiched between three large nations and has no room to expand. Yet you do not hear them making claims that they cannot support. And China. China was raped out of their land by the Mongols. Their potential was squashed like a bug long ago. Australia leads the world in population and power. Apparently the land god gave you could not be that poor. To be ambitious is one thing. To be greedy is another.

                        New Timbuktu Times.
                        AD. 30. 1/4 Gold

Headline: The Settlement in New Land.

After centuries' searching, we finally found a new land. The New Timbuktu City(NTC) are founded.

Since the early days, The Great Pharaoh had been concerned about the growth limit of Mali due to a lack of fertilize land. About half land of Mali are desert. The only answer to this problem is exploring new land. The first several orders of The Great Pharaoh included sending a navy fleet to find the new land. After Several hundred years' travelling, the fleet passed Iceland, Greenland, and finally found a New Land. Meanwhile another navy fleet with new seafaring technology also arrived. Local nomads seemed happy to our arrival. Some skilled tribes joined us. A local legion called Sitting Bull has been assigned to be the associate military leader at new settlement. The head of all the settlement is believe to be the Great Pharaoh himself. He bought the land of New Timbuktu from natives by a bag of colorful stone: emerald, gold, and ruby, which represent the color of our flag. Some attendant of the Paraoh argued that it might be too expensive. But the Pharaoh replies, "If you know that, hundred years later, the city founded here will be the center of the world, the icon of freedom, each acre of its land will worth more than that, you would not say so. And my reincarnation will come back here 2000 years later." With a big smile on his face, the Pharaoh think: what I really mean is that I AM directing the founding of this city, where I am living, from 2000 years later.

That year was called AD.1. It's popular believed that AD is the abbreviation of "After great Discover". But only the Pharaoh know that there is an another cause yet to be revealed. When HES TIME COMES.

                        The Building of Great Wall

In order to defend our cities, the Great Wall was built. It's a movement began from Timbuktu. It compose of city walls surround each of cities, and between cities. The Great Wall will give us special benefit when defending barbarians and other invassions. Almost every families devoted to this great project. Kids play with stones since very young. Therefore it became a habit that wherever out settler found a new city, the first thing they will do is to build a city wall. Believe or not, they can do it even when they have sweetest wildest dreams. Otherwise it can't explain how it could be done in almost no time. Maybe that's god's miracle onto people living in pathetic desert.

                        International reports.

At the time of finish Great Wall project, we re-state our peace willing toward all nations. In the New Land, we expect to meet new nations and seeking true friendship. Before any agreement was made, we claim the land we settle first. Land within our cities's radius, in between, and nearby, now and in future, before official agrrements are made. We like to discuss the issue with leaders of other nations.

Our friendship with Zulu nation are developing. Caravans come from Zulu. They are welcome. Some of our caravans are also ready to depart from Timbuktu. We look forward to further trading with Great Zulu.

Israelite are building fortress at the border. It's not friendly movie, but we hope it will end as defense purpose only.

We continued to trade some advanced technologies with Adriatic League, but meanwhile they breaked the land agreement with us, they landed at Tunis and claimed that's within their city's radius. The Tunis settlement project have to be postponed. While the Foreign Minister still stay in League to negotiate the situations, military force are not that opatient. Middle class military officers are angry about league's behavor. Rumor said some special action might be performed.

                        Domestic Report.

                        Building road. Building road.
                        Building Irrigation. Building Irrigation.

Shakeem, you said you would send the Aussies a map but it did not arrive.

So we proposed the claims in the posted map as a suggestion since the additional land Paul would like to claim is virtually all jungle anyway.
However, your words are correct and we shall amend our boundary to reflect the longitude that you suggest.

You must admit that, if you count up the land area, the Aussies are at a huge disadvantage and when you add to that the poor quality of our terrain I appeal to the world to understand the need for at least the rest of our claim.

                              <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:

Paul can support his claim and it's up to all nations to provide for their own people.

Paul wishes friendship with the Zulu folk and is disappointed with the tone and manner of this missive.
Shakeem's generosity in securing peace with the Aussies will not be forgotten, however. And it is clear you see some merit in the argument that a nation starting out with poor land deserves a little international support in securing at least some additional colonies, albeit also with poor terrain.

Clearly the Aussies have fully recognised the rights of the Chinese to large areas of land in North America.

                                Consul Keating,

As long as you retract your plans to cut into eastern S. America, there will be peace. Shakeem welcomed your countries entry into a continent that could have very easily been "claimed" in entirety by the Zulu Nation. We even tolerate the city that you so boldly placed not far south from an established Zulu city. We can be peaceful neighbors. That is what the Zulus want. Whether we will be or not will be determined by decisions you make in the near future. I know you to be a wise man Consul. Your empire is one of legends. We trust you will make the wise choice.

                                Consul Shakeem
