That's why it was great having multiple people in the same room playing. Some of the things that seem so obvious to you were new to other people.

All the little details.

Add me to the growing list..........and again it's pretty obvious, since the city grows with 0 surplus if the box is full and you get the food that the extra worker generates immediately.

Hmmm, should stop posting here and giving away all the secrets.
NAW, it is interesting to see the thing that you take for granted surprising others.

That and people that when move up their dips to steal or whatever, don't use all the movement points. On a river/road network, they move up to the city and move right in wasting 2/3 of a movement point since they only need 1/3 to move into the city. Move that extra square or two around the city to expose a little more black, then move in on the last third. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. City built update

From playing games last week... it seems that some people didn't know that if a city was going to go into revolt the next turn, but was going to finish building a unit or happiness improvement that would keep it from happening, that the city won't go into revolt.
This can be used also for example to cream out a unit/improvement/science research and so on from the city that should take 2 turns otherwise if you put elvises enough to get the city from disorder. You get the thing you wanted but the price you paid is that the city not produce anything next turn (it is going into disorder).
But there are ONE exeception the CURRENT city size is decided BEFORE the above moment. The only thing that effect current city size is if the food box is full -> in such case one worker is added. After that the above step is executed (this is the reason with the growth with full food box and negative surplus food).
But more important this means one more interesting thing: If you have 8 citiziens in a city it requries an Aquaduct to growth more. You must finish the Aquaduct ONE turn before your food box is full otherwise you will lose all the food in it and you must start over on size 8 to fill it again. This is because of that currect city size is decided BEFORE update of city resources take place (the moment there your Aquaduct will be built and start take effect).
The same applies to Sewer system and Granaries.Last edited by winzity; June 17, 2003, 00:18.winzity ICQ 30339567

But if you are celebrating prior and build an aquaduct, you city will increase in size the turn you build the aquaduct. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Thanks Rah, I thought I had seen a size 8 city grow on the turn the aqueduct was built: it must have been a celebrating one, then!!Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

Yes, I agree. But sometimes it's worth losing him to get that peek behind the city. Especially if it's not a long run by sea. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
