I still remember playing Eyes and having him resign because he revolted and was in anarchy for 3 turns and *****ed about it in typical Eyesian fashion.
I guess Oedo is just a little smarter then Eyes......
(of course I, like all civers previous to the Oedo year discovery never realized every 4th year was a government changing year....he trumped the King also!)

yep. And the worse thing is that when I originally played SP, I would reload every now and then. Mostly, I'd finish my turn, save, revolt, then advance and see how many turns of anarchy, and go back and reload. AND NEVER NOTICED THE PATTERN. Sometimes it's the easiest things that mystify us the most.

From playing games last week... it seems that some people didn't know that if a city was going to go into revolt the next turn, but was going to finish building a unit or happiness improvement that would keep it from happening, that the city won't go into revolt.
It seemed like everybody learned something with three of us in the room playing and one person wandering from player to player. It was a great experience.
Part of the reason I started this thread was to point out my own mistakes with the hope that I wasn't alone (and from reading enough threads here I knew I wasn't), it makes some interesting reading to find out what other people didn't know about the game, even after playing for a while ( and in some cases, quite a while)

Yes I did the same. Looking back now it boggles the mind how many people had this staring them in the face for so long without spotting it. When you look at some of the trade discoveries of Solo/Samson, the oedo year is SO DAMN OBVIOUS in comparison.
Let's see, there was also a person that didn't know that if your food bin was full, that the city would still grow if you had a negative food production (as long as the the new worker would cover the the negative)
All the little details.
