2) AntiGATT is building Leo's, which is already built by the Greeks. Beware of changing production in this city, lest we lose lots of shields.
Ermmmm.... why didn't we build Leos? Or Magellan... I figured one or the other would be a good idea...

Answer: When it's a pontoon bridge!
I was much more concerned with maximizing the number of transported crusaders than living up to any armchair admiral's concept of the ideal ship chain. Critics of my methods are welcome to demonstrate their superior prowess to the breathlessly awaiting audience .
Yeah, but might it have been even better to complete Nav and build Caravels [(carry 3)·(move 4 w/LH) = double the (carry 2)·(move 3) of Triremes] if maximizing Cruc delivery were your goal?
SG[1], sorry my ancient (Win3.1 era) gif editor couldn't do the animation or transparency for Santa's Steamer, but it is only for a short season.
SG(2), with that "armchair admiral" shot I guess we should all consider ourselves well and duly mocked.

And while we puttered about in our science laboratory, the AIs could build city walls, or discover more effective defenders than their current crusader fodder. I am a great believer in striking now rather than waiting for some theoretical optimal future conditions. And, from a purely selfish standpoint, I had a lot more fun sacking cities than I would have had optimizing science beakers.

Quite right Dave. Long live the Armchair Napoleon
I was surprised to see someone who is so keen on maximising shield output being so profligate.

Well, we ARE winning, despite the strategic disagreements...

Don't we have to get Nav before we can build Mag?!? If someone hadn't sold half our Temples we could have a lower Lux rate, and… nevermind.
I say make peace with Babs and move our focus eastward: we can still get Leo when we find Delphi. By then it will be my turn, and I can crank up the science and turn Triremes into Caravels.
THE PLAN
The Americans and Mongols have nothing we want, either in the way of science or wonders. The policy will be to contain and not attack these civs in the immediate future.
The Russians are a restart...and their geography is a mystery.
The Aztecs and Babylonians have science we require as well as wonders. There are already substantial regiments of heavies heading for their territories so we will maintain full aggression.
The Greeks have Leo's in Delphi. Accordingly all troops heading for the American continent will be diverted towards Greece.
The emphasis will be on science for the next few turns until Navigation is discovered, so allowing the conversion of the shields for Leo's into Magellan's Expedition. Extreme Xinning will be employed to achieve this goal.
1200 - Hut -Tribe Bribeless
1220 - Hut - Nomad. Large redeployment of troops for Greece.
1240 - Lagash captured 18 plundered Banking taken
1260 - Suez founded. The extra tech of Banking has meant the research rate is now 6...extra Xinning to bring it back to 5.
1280 - Ashur captured 26 gold and library sold; Hut - Musketeer. Barracks at Lagash.
1300 - Navigation now working on Democracy. All Xinning ceased and science rate reuduced to 10%. Athens destroyed Slump liberated from Barbs. Mongols break Cease Fire; Anti-Globalism founded.
1320 - Magellan's Expedition in AnitGATT; Sparta captured 50g plundered ... Delphi the prime objective has come into view
Aztecs persuaded to declare war. Russians activate their alliance with yellow folk and declare war. Aztec Junction founded; Hut - load of Barbs.
1340 - Delphi captured along with Leonardo's Workshop now we have Caravels moving 6 44 plundered; Tlaxcala captured; 22 plundered Gunpowder taken. Hut - Crusader. Notatradingpost founded.
1360 - Bank in AntiGATT; Temple in NAFTAno; Barracks re-building starts. Greek capital now Corinth. Thermopylae captured; 93 in plunder. Hut - more Barbs; Bye CIA founded.
1380 - Ur and Great Wall captured; 40 plundered; Nineveh taken - 20g plundered; Pharsalos and King Richard's Crusade captured. Hut - Nomad; Corinthcaptured - 44 in plunder.
