I agree. Just save it as a scenario and be done with it.

I never thought it was a question of trust, just an annoyance at the "Cheat Mode" message being forever planted in the file being mentioned by several posters.

We ARE playing a scenario to some degree - it is a made map and we have adjusted the rules (albeit voluntarily).

If there are no arguments counter to saving as a scenario and using that within the next 24 hours, I will do so and we will OFFICIALLY be playing with a scenario with my next turns (at the end of those 24 hours), instead of in everything but name.

          All cool?

Seems to be a tad terse lately.

I have no problems with a scenario, although it is pretty easy to save the game as a scenario hence removing the 'cheater' tag.

Of course, that opens up the tech tree which opens a whole new can of worms.

That was my one aversion to saving as a scenario-in a scenario, all techs are open to research, as long as you have the prereqs, in a normal game, some are unavailable even if you have both the prereqs(Monarchy comes to mind). I belive someone with too much time on thier hands figured out which techs would be available with any given set of discovered techs.

I think the lack of certain technologies to research is an important part of the game. If playing a scenario makes these techs available, then (IMHO) we should continue with the current game and just put up with the cheat mode.
