Got CivII as a gift.
Did not like it at first, forgot about it for like 2 years. Then I got it back out and got hooked.
Getting hooked of course made me get CivIII when it conveniently came out about 6 months after I re-found CivII.
And then I was looking for tips and I came here.
I never really browsed the forums until I saw about the Civ3 Demo game, was hooked, registered for forums, and the rest, as they say, is history.
(I've only been a forum member for about 2-3 months as far as I recollect, so it's not a lot of "the rest as they say is history" but it's some. )
