The Civ2 manual has many many errors and omissions (and not just of technical stuff) and also includes some things that didn't make the final game.

On topic: Civ1's manual was the best ever! I really miss the days when you could spend days just reading a game's manual. Anyone remember the Elite manual way back in the C64 days? It even came with a novel

Bottomline: I found the CivII manual moderately useful. The CivIII one, as well as the PTW and C3C ones, I found totally useless.Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

For me Civ2 was the first civ game I played. So obviously I found it useful. I reread it a couple of times trying to find more information to improve my game. A guy I knew also had a strategy guide. I reread that one as well trying to improve my game. Although I think I learned the most here.Comment

@Dissident: Considering that most folks I know never touch the manuals for their computer games, I'm not sure you "obviously" found the CivII manual useful just because you've never played a Civ game before.Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
