No unless the moderator staff says it is. Then its always spam..

Not that I would do that, mind you.
Wait a minute, didn't you just do that?

This is a good point at least where the actions of administrators are concerned. I forgot to consider this. Master Zen when he performs actions on MZO which an obejctive observer would call "spam", he responds with "By definition, the administrator does not spam".

For the actions of NON-administrators and moderators, however, what we do can still be spam even if it has not YET been labelled as such. Remember the workings of the Orwellian state in 1984? Online discussion forums work a little bit like that. You see, it's not that something BECOMES spam, it's that it is eventually decided that it is now spam and that it always was spam.

It's sort of like how Oceania can declare itself to have always been at war with a foreign power. Remember, objective reality does not exist in online forum administration and moderation. Truth is determined by forum staff.

No. There are many things to which I have not responded. I am not a spammer, for I only respond to those choice pieces of discussion which I deem worthy of my response. You should consider yourself infinitely lucky that you qualify as meeting this designation in this case.

In reality none of us are spammers, then, because we all respond the "choice" pieces of discussion we want to respond to, whateve the criterion/criteria for that may be.

Apropos of the lists, all the usual suspects are there.

Maybe it would be good to have a list of how long people have been on the "most ppd this month" list?

Well, in my case (if you mean it as streaks including the last month), ZERO! Since I was on it for several months until last month, when I fell off the list completely.

In my defense, the replies were about different points and had different tones. And I was simply pissed at the previous post, so I wasnt too careful about my USUAL non-spammer scruples - I mean why go back and edit when someone calls me a wet blanket? Feh!

If thats not good enough for y'all, i will say that i dont usually do that in on topic forums.

I don't think that's blatant +1mongering (especially in the OT), but it's quite sound in order to get understood.
Precisely - in OT, which is a morass of confusion anyway, it is often a necissity to achieve any kind of clarity - though thats probably a fools hope anyway.

In on topic forums its much less necessary, and is of course subject to abuse.
