being the only european, i guess my timetable could be akward but at the same time I am the one with most freetime (being a student certainly gives a ´great deal of room to move around) so almost any time will do. Just let me know it a week ahead so that I won't commit to anything else that peticular day.

2127 is done and 2128 is winging its way across the stormy Atlantic to knowhow2
-------------------------------
Winter had one last kick at us here in Newfoundland. Thirty cm (about a foot) of snow fell last night (usually our last major storm is in March). The provincial civil servants started a strike two days ago and that includes the snow plow operators. So I have an unnscheduled day off work LOL-- I was just glad to play a little Smax before going out to shovel. Cheers all !!

Back from vacation, and although I took my turn, I couldn't post on the Apolyton forum until I realized that my bookmarks pointed at apolyton.net instead of www.apolyton.net.
Anyway, is everyone free this Saturday or Sunday? We could set some time (probably morning for me and evening for knowhow2, because we are at the extreme ends of the nine-hour time spread), get together on some chat forum, then play our turns until one of us has to go.
How does this Saturday sound to everyone? The times could be:
10:00 AM for me (U.S. Pacific Time)
12:00 noon for Walt (U.S. Central Time)
2:00 PM for cbn (Newfoundland Time)
7:00 PM for knowhow2 (Sweden Time)
*******
Round-trip plane ticket to St. Louis: $260
Rental car: $75
Wedding gift: $179
Gambling losses incurred during bachelor party: $140
Speeding ticket on the way back from the wedding: $75
Seeing a good college friend getting married to a wonderful girl: Priceless
There are some things money can't buy.
For everything else, there's Mastercard!

_______
Fallacies of a Free Market, Introduction
by Deirdre Skye
Ever since the development of an industrial base within our new civilization, there have been cries by a small but vocal minority for a free market economy. The arguments for such a laissez-faire economy are simple: elimination of the very governmental regulations which built and founded our current industrial base would lead to an explosion in energy production, scientific research, and consumer goods and services. However, the proponents of such an economy are either unaware or ignorant of the enormous hidden costs and disadvantages. Therefore, I have written this essay to explain why our society must never adopt a free market system.

Saturday is fine with me and I will assume that we are doing "ICQ". I will learn how to use ICQ between now and Saturday so that I do not foul things up too much . If we cannot do this type of session this weekend, I would not be available on a weekend for about 3 more weeks. (work full time and also a part time student-- finals are looming). I will commit to a turn a day rate though.
Oh and I see the turn is with me-- I will play it by 18:00 server time.

okey then 10 00 pm it is. but since it's kinda late I won't be able to play more than 3-4 hours. Got a date on sunday.
So that we are perfectly clear, 10 pm means 22:00, right?
And also, has anyone asked anybody about rules applying to this peticular event? Tau Ceti?
It's close to midnight and something evil's is lurking in the dark.

I fear we'll be limited to playing only a couple hours, as I'll have to take off at 17:00 CST. But, that being said, two hours can make a big difference in the early part of the game.
I'll email my icq number around between now and then.
I'm running a P2 400 MHz with 128 megs memory and a cable modem. Shall I assume I'm hosting, or is someone among us better outfitted?
While I'm at it, I'll message Tau Ceti and make sure this doesn't abrogate any tournament rules. I wouldn't think that it would, since options are /more/ limited in tcp/ip play than in pbem (no trading cities with the AI, for example).
