I posted in the Recreation Commons in the general forum, indirectly teasing Illuminatis a bit, and judging by his reaction I think he still doesn't like me very much Oh well.

But what really got me thinking was the note he had in his sig:

Citizens of Gaian Union: something very important has occured, visit our forum now!
What could that be? An attack from the Hive? An attack by the Angels? (as if). Or perhaps, terrible for us, meeting the Morgans?

      I have a feeling it's the Morgans.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

I'd say it was a Morgan contact too - when last spotted, their second 'Gator was heading towards the styx channel

I guess that means our days of fearlessly bullying the other teams are over

Seems no one sent you a diplomatic message. *sigh* I have to intervene yet again.

I can see that Gaians seem to be exploring notion of trade (they seem interested in this possibility) but I need to inform you that it might take a while until you get a response. There are two reasons for this: Gaians are having grave problems with member activity (as you surely must have noticed) for some time. Other reason is even if they manage to get rid of this problems, your offer is not as simple as it seems: it would require additional negotiation with Angels just to see if this is possible, and then to examine what is the most likely course of action before Gaians will respond to you.
To conclude, please do not be alarmed by lack of feedback information from Gaians - it make take a week or two before you receive word on your proposal.
              1) It's good not to be the only one with a little delays here and ther e
              2) Their team seems to be falling apart, for the sake of the game that can't be good
              3) TWO WEEKS?!
              4) "Two events" - the other is reduced member activity, the other the fact that Angels need to be talked with also - but I sense that there's a third reason, the one Illuminatus referred to in his sig. THAT, or the important event might be *our proposal*, and he's just using it to try to get the crowd back together again. *shrug*

If they have few active members, with badly communicated schedules, the waiting can get long. If one person does everything, you can hardly call it a democracy game.

The bad part of this is, we might be all over Morgan, before the Gaians come together to give us an answer. So our position in this negotiations might worsen.

                  No that seems terrible
I thought we were rather short with just 6 or so active members, but I guess they're having real problems.

                  3) TWO WEEKS?!

Well for all we know the Angels could also be having problems with member activity. It wouldn't surprise me seeing that they're probably the worst positioned team right now, and there was also that guy who cheated at the beginning of the game. So anyway it might take a week to reach a deal with the Angels and then another week to decide what to do with us. Who knows.

Who sent you this btw? jtsisyoda? Illuminatis?

LOL - One would hope it wasn't jtsisyoda (Morgan's turnplayer)

Illuminatus, I managed to forget to mention that. At least Chaos posted it somewhere, so there's two active members already. (Yay?!)

And I'm not sensing that. Mart is the turnplayer, and I see Hercules and Flameflash posting often, but don't see their posts in teh multiplayer section where both are active in a few PBEMs. I'm not so sure how active geomodder is nowadays, though,

(Could be in off-topic, though, as I rarely go there)

But my sense is that they have a good core of regulars (3 or 4) much like we have

Ok fair enough, there's just too many people to keep track of

Actually I think I can safely say we're the most active faction. Though the more the better of course.

He's been travelling in New Zealand since mid-November. He should be back in some week IIRC. Then I assume he'll join the ranks of active Angels again.

I see that the Gaians haven't met Morgan this turn as we suspected they might have.

I wonder, therefore, if Illuminatus' call to his faction to log in was as a result of Kassi's techtrade offer?

                              - and what do we do now that it looks as though Zak might get Int Int earlier (but not so, if we buy Mon Stat from him - that actually looks like a good plan now - it will mean that the Angels (or Gaians) deal will still be our principal one)

Oh dear, the poor Gaians seem to have lost their leader Lady Deirdre to an assassination. All according to their special edition of the Voice of Planet in the general forum. It also appears the murderer was of a non-Gaian identity. And reading between the lines, it was probably a Spartan (or so they would have us believe)

This can't be good. It looks like a preparation for a declaration of war (a casus belli), and I can only hope we are not the ones being targeted.

If faction (sic!) which may have sent assasin is discovered, we might face prospect of even a global war in future.
Why would they print this if it weren't to be so, to scare us? Perhaps we are so fortunate that they are going after the Angels, almost seems like a reasonable piece of meat to chew on. But it might just as well be targeting us. Do they have a couple of IoD's with mindworms storming at us from the fungus?
