Amen to that. If all else fails, I'll play the turn myself 'til the gruesome end comes

      Right on

I was thinking, maybe we should clarify to Gaia that we only had a temporary lack of interest due to key members being temporarily busy, but that we usually have 5 or so members who are active and post. It will at least keep faith alive for Illuminatus.

Also I was thinking if I should offer him my help to get some drama going in the Gaian camp. I don't know how I would do that though, let alone without hurting the Federation.

Illuminatus has retired from Lordship, we should negotiate with Chaos Theory from now on I guess.

That's a reason why I'd suggest to cooperate with them against the Hive. It could provide them with a concrete goal and chances for interaction.

PS: Kassiopeia, I'm unsure of this, have you sent your (and my?) PM to Illuminatus, or did he send a PM to you on his own initiative?

            Kass:

Ask Illuminatus if there's anything that Googlie can do to encourage Darsnan and Hydro to be more active (since I "recruited" them to the gaians anyway)

(I'd just jump right in and e-mail them, but what if Ill's PM is from the Gaian Ministry of Disinformation, trying to lull us into giving them some "catch-up" techs etc etc to make their faction stronger and thus more interesting to play?)

I mean, they do have Chaos Theory and laurentius who are very active in the multiplayer forum, and whose names appear as posters often when thete's no corresponding PBEM thread that they've visited.

EDIT: LOL, I'm beginning to sound just as paranoid as everyone else

Uhh, I think I did. What PM was the one you're referring to?

Yes, I've sent it. The war pact with the Hive was possibly the thing that decided in our favour.

Ah great to hear! Strange then though that they haven't mentioned anything further about a Hive war pact.

                        /me shrugs

The message *is* in my sent items folder, so I've definitely sent it to Illuminatus. Maybe bring it back up in the follow-up message we'll write to him wrt. the EE deal.

Ask them if they'd like another Embassy established for faster communications

Okay, things are now going waaaay south.

I am sorry to inform you that Gaian Union has refused exchange of tactical information.

Although it is a logical step to pool resources against a common enemy, Gaian Union declines because of actions of Spartan Federation.
For years and years, Spartan Federation is deliberately violating our teritory rights, mapping Gaian coast with their foil. Spartan Federation has clearly and intentionally violated our teritorial sea hoping to obtain tactical data without being noticed.
This act has been identified as hostile and as such, Gaian Union will not share any tactical data with you. Additionally, Gaian Union requests navigation logs from the foil as a possible compensation for your transgression. They must not be attempted to be falsificated.
Our investigation has shown that so called Morgan had nothing to do with assasination, in fact, Morgan never commited a hostile act against us, unlike Sparta. Current suspects are Human Hive and Spartan Federation, and since Human Hive foils do not cruise our coast, prime suspicion for the murder is Sparta.
Where did this come from? First they agree to the tech exchange with us and now they go on war-footing? What the hell?

First order of business is probably asking them, where are the green little lines along your coast? I don't see them. The GU has made no declaration like the Modo Doctrine, so we fail to see how we've transgressed on their territory. I would also like them to specify, what it is they mean on "logs". Screenshots of their coast? I could live with that, but seriously, I don't like the tone they're using. It's like they've met up with Morgan and Morgan has planted these... ideas... in their heads.

You are right, it is kind of strange for them to be turning around now. Some consequence would be nice, or else we won't like talking to them. After all, it would be them who would receive something first, if they were to accept the tech deal. Perhaps we should make it clear to them?

As to the mapping, I wasn't there when it happened. If, as you say, they didn't try to claim any water territory, they have no right to demand anything post factum. Neither do they have right to call a simple exploration a hostile act.

About the tactical data... well, I'd answer with a cool "whatever". Something like:
"We can handle Yang without help, thank you very much. If you don't want helpful data, we won't force you to take it."
                              Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

This is bad I think. Being paranoid, I originally stated that we were going to be framed for the murder, and it looks like I am being proven right - yay

This is a very elaborate role-playing scheme, including an assasination and the invention of territorial violations (which we haven't received any complaints about earlier). Why they agreed to the tech-trade I do not know - playing tricks with us maybe? At any rate, they wouldn't make all this up without some grand scheme at work. Maybe it's just a matter of dropping us as a strategic partner, but it could be a preparation for war.

We should continue to explore their intents and attitude. I agree with you Kassi, we should enquire about the so called transgressions. Why weren't we approached earlier regarding this issue?

Why should we send them screenies? No way. Let them to their own exploring.

Current suspects are Human Hive and Spartan Federation, and since Human Hive foils do not cruise our coast, prime suspicion for the murder is Sparta.
She was killed by an artillery shell from a gunship?
