The Spartan destruction of Morgan capital has led Gaian Union to a final decision for making alignments with other factions.
It seems that things should change and things should change now.

This message is not an official proposal, rather an informing and questioning one and perhaps a prelude to further negotiations between Gaian Union and Data Angels.

Gaian High council has put forth a project to engage in a PACT with Data Angel faction to try to catch up with rapid growth of both Spartan and Morganic factions.

The grounds of such decision are:

1.Gaian Union and Data Angels have been friendly to each other from the very first contact

2.Gaian Union and Data Angels share almost the same ideals, main of them being freedom and peace.

3.Gaian Union and Data Angels are both the weakest (human) factions on Chiron and really need some help from outside to grow faster.
PACT would produce such help for both our factions in the terms of commerce and increased co-operation in all or almost all issues.


The exact terms and conditions can be discussed later.

With this message Gaian Union wanted to ask Data Angels if your faction is interested in this kind of relation.

A lot to think of. We have to be careful in my oppinion not to form obvious political blocks against someone. At least until we have good defense and "Fast Reaction Forces"

We could agree to a Pact, but perhaps without giving it away to the other teams. Meaning not putting it in the diplobox?

We have treaty already, so it be no change. For increased trade income we have to put it into diplobox.
Maybe let us find out somehow how Spartans and Morganities would feel about it. We got very strong invitation for Pact from Morganities. If we go for Pact with Gaians remaining in treaty with Morganities we will distance them from ourselves. If we go for Pact with Gaians and Morganities, Spartans will read this as a significant danger for them.

It appears, that slowly times of being neutral come to an end. I am not sure, but if we stay neutral from now for too long, we can find ourselves suddenly opposed by all others.

Then what political sides would probably form?

Morganities

Would then Spartans and Morganities join for short time to get rid of us and Gaians? Possibly. They might do it. Two stronger factions killing together two weaker it's a perfect match for them.

I see Morgan wanting to pact with us hoping to pull us into the conflict with Spartans so we would be on the Morgan side.

We have no military so I would stay with the treaty and wait.

I don't think anyone would be too surprised if we pacted with the Gaians. Spartan's know they us and gaians attempted to work together to speed tech discovery. So Spartans, I feel, would not find this alarming.

Moving to Pact with Morgan, otoh, would signal, to them, a shift in our allegiences, leading to diplomatic problems. especially if they view, as their message said, that taking out PTS was a last resort because they couldn't hold it and needed to curtail Morgan growth.

So I think a Pact with Gaians would be acceptable to Spartans. we might sell it to them in terms of our need to raise income. Also reassure Spartans that our deal re Intel Integ is still ongoing. Further from a Spartan perspective a DA - Gaian pact is not a real threat.

It may be a bit too late, but maybe we should inform Gaians, that we traded from Morganities High Energy Chemistry and we can transfer it to them, maybe as payment for Ecological Engineering. They might trade Impact technology then and not plasma.

I checked, that we gonna get like 3 mor EC from the field. However this will also bring increased commerce level. And this may be worth it.
Also with energy restrictions lifted we may go for free market. That would probably kinda "skyrocket" our EC income
