.141 playing as India, researched ironworking but no iron available yet my city build list now has greyed out swordsman and NO warrior. The warrior I had nearly finished building in one city disappeared but the replacement unit isn't available!

It didn't do this before the latest patch and I assume it isn't deliberate.

      No spearmen either?

Yes, it does allow spearmen - but they don't upgrade to swords if I connect iron later.

Any chance that you picked up Metal Casting the same turn? That is when Wariors become obsolete.

Give that man the prize - that's why I can't build warriors.

I don't like it but it isn't a bug then.

I'm getting the bull**** Peace or War extortion when an AI unit wanders near my army in a war, but is nowhere near the AI civ that is stupid enough to issue such extortion with a unit surrounded by legions while my army is the largest, and half again larger than average, and I am capable of massive run-on sentences.

I was mulling over whether to take that civ out. Decision made. Buh-bye Alex.

I mean, who in their right mind provokes a man with such poor grammar yet who commands the killing machine?

since the hotfix/patch the Spanish language has disappeared from Civ5, in steam. It's English only now for us poor Spanish-speaking sods. I mean, what's this thing called a 'warrior'? weird

No longer get influence with City State for building road to capital as requested.

Hmnn ... silly me ... I thought patches were to resolve bugs, not introduce new ones.

Any patching process is much more complex than that.

How long has the Stealth Bomber cannot be promoted bug been around?
I've used one extensively in my last game and it was nearing 150 XP near the end, but no promotion opportunities.

This is the second game in a row that I am having a puppet city starving and yet I count plenty of food from worked tiles. Currently the starving city has 6 population, with the food popup showing 12 consumed and 10 produced. I count food icons in worked tiles as (9)+4+2+2+2+2+1=22. The base tile is 9 from the 8 maritime city states.

In my current game I just noticed something that looked like several friendship bugs. Let me tell a quick story:

In the beginning the world was split into two groups, where China, Germany and Babylon was in one group and everybody else was in another. Everybody else set up friendships with each other. In the early game Ottoman asked me to join a war against Babylon, where I captured all their cities
1500 years later everything is still the same more or less. I haven't been to war with anybody else (not even city-states) and I have ALWAYS accepted demands by my friends (except when they asked me to join war), so I have been nothing but a good peaceful friend.
All of the sudden the Ottomans decided to denounce me for no reason at all. When I looked at his "reason" he mentioned "your friends has found reason to denounce you" and "we believe you are a warmonger"... First of all, you are the only one who has denounced me of my friends and how can you call me a warmonger when I have only been at war once (in a war you dragged me into), while you are at war all the time? Over the next few turns all my friends denounced me
I do have the largest army in the world, but I have never used them. Oh well... it opens of for a chance to take out my neighbors the Ottomans without getting a reputation hit... everybody hates me anyway

                          Oh, and another 'bug':
Every now and then one random enemy pops up calling me a small city state with no army. Just for your information: In demographics there's a nice big 1 on the lines with land size, population and most importantly: army size... oh, and often the civ that pops up is nicely located under the column of the worst civ
Don't call me a weak civ when you can't even win a war against a city state
This space is empty... or is it?

I said I was going to wait 2 months to play CIV V, and I made it 5 weeks. Got bored on Wednesday and decided to try a post patch game after a complete reinstall and an update of all my drivers. I ended up playing two games, although I started the second game from the Industrial era.

                            Graphics:
-Break away graphics are still a factor, seems mainly to be either mountains, hills with mines, large cities, or ships at sea.
-White line appears to flicker across the main display revealing the edge of the world map.
-A similar white line sometimes appears to flash quickly linking the active unit to something off the map. Flickers for less than a second and then is gone.
-When moving an embarked unit to the maximum distance, the "dots" seem to skip between the next to last hex and the last hex.

                            Balance:
-China has a huge advantage by upgrading Cho-nu-ku (or whatever they are called) into rifleman, infantry, mech infantry they get units that can attack twice. Perhaps this unit should have a doubled ranged attack only so that when they upgrade to melee unit, they only get 1 attack.
-Civ bonuses are lopsided. The difference between the "haves" (e.g.: Greece, Egypt, France, and maybe Persia) and the "have nots" (e.g.:America, England, Germany, Ottomans, Mongols) is immense. If the "have nots" had amazing unique units to make up the difference, it would be something. But sadly, they seem to be relegated to the second class civilization bin. (Neither list -- haves or have nots is meant to be complete, but rather just the CIVs that leap to mind.)
                            - Anti-aircraft guns and mobile SAMS are completely whacked. The AI uses them as regular military units and they are surprisingly effective in that role. In my last game, near endgame I built a city on a point of land on the other continent to take advantage of some unique geography ( 1 marble, 3 fishies, and aluminum.) Shortly thereafter, I got the patented 3 CIV simultaneous dow, and England was pretty close to my little peninsula. They proceeded to invade me with 1 artillery, and 16 SAMS. Meanwhile my navy intercepted a strung out flotilla of 3 infantry, 1 modern armor, 2 artillery and 9 SAMS enroute from England to my mainland. So, the English attacked with 3 infantry, 3 artillery, 1 armor and TWENTY-FIVE mobile SAMS. Simultaneously the Mongols and the Persians were also attacking me with armies comprised of 50% anti aircraft or SAMS unit. It is ridiculous that SAMS can be used to sack a city after they have marched on it. Mobile SAMS should have ranged attack versus aircraft only. AA guns could be pressed into melee work ( ala the german 88 mm ) but unless they are specifically fitted with HVAP ammunition, they can’t really serve that role. Currently, the anti tank gun serves no purpose at all, since the AA gun is just as powerful against tanks AND defends against air attack.

                            AI Issues:
                            - CS ask for wonders to be built (like Stonehenge) that are impossible when you start in later ages.
-Serious pro AI favoritisms actually interfere with game play now. The constant research agreements between the AI's produced a game where there were three manhattan projects and 2 apollo programs completed prior to 1750! At one point France (the clear points leader in the game) had research agreements with every other Civ except me. So every 30 turns they are drumming up 8 extra technologies. While doing this, most of the civs they were RA'ing had no money, so either France was paying for both sides, or the AI cheats. Either way, France was able to RA like mad, have alliances with about 1/2 the city states, and still keep a bank roll of 3.5K to 9K gold all the time. Now I am all for making the game very, very hard to win at the upper levels--but there needs to be another way to give the AI's some boost other than defying all common sense and reason. Their civilization could simply not produce enough gold to allow for all this expenditure.
--AI favoritisms in relationships. France attacked 3 other civs and the player character during the game. As they were closing in on a science victory, the other civs were still RA'ing and high fiving France all the way to the bloody end. When I tried to communicate with any of them, I was reviled because I was blood thirsty. I attacked no one during the game except at the very end when I tried to stop France from winning. Way before that my reputation was ruined during wars started by the various AI's.
--AI's all attacked me when I launched a D-Day type invasion of France to try and stop their spaceship. Which, of course simply continued the trend of all the AI's working together to allow France to win. Nevermind the fact that India, Japan and America were already at war with France. Nevermind that France was almost done with their spaceship. Nevermind that France was the points leader. As soon as they saw an opening, they all pounced. With India actually ceasing to attack French units, and exclusively attacking my units as they closed in on Paris.
--Unending war. At one point I was at war with Greece, France and the Iroquis (yes they all DoW'd me on the same turn) and had managed to take a couple Iroquis cities, hold France's forces from landing on my continent, and was holding Greece's army up in a narrow mountain pass. The war started on turn 145. On turn 172, I made peace with the Iroquis. On turn 206, France made peace. On turn 346 (when France claimed the science victory) I was still at war with Greece. I have no idea how many peace offers they refused, but it was way more than 20. By the end of the game, Greece had literally sent hundreds and hundreds of units to their death attacking (or trying to go by sea around) my version of the Maginot Line. I sacked and razed 2 Greek cities, and otherwise simply defended the fortresses in the mountains and kept some naval units to sweep the seas. In typical insane AI fashion, Greece was still launching attacks on the turn Napoleon launched his ship.

So where does that leave me-- I lost a game on immortal which I view as good. I mean, I am not glad I lost, however I haven't been beaten on immortal before, so that is a good sign. It does seem to me that the new AI mechanic is to "team up" against the player, which is not so good. In the second game, I won via science. It was literally a space race, as 3 other Civ’s were very close to finishing their ships as I finally finished mine.

The game needs to allow for more interaction between players than, DoF, Denounce, Trade and don't settle near us. There needs to be a better "memory" of who has done what to who, and who has kept their word. The player needs to be able to see which civs are friends and who is at war with whom. Most importantly, the AI needs to be able to adjust its strategies to coordinate an attack on a common foe. In this game, had 3 AI's not back stabbed me, I probably could have sacked Paris before France finished the spaceship. Since India was next most advanced, they might have won. Attacking me made no sense and simply handed the victory to France.

I succesfully stacked two combat units. I told them to attack a city. They each went to the same tile ajacent to the city and attacked. I have a knight and a trebuchet in the same tile. But on the next turn... the knight move one hex away.

Just liberated a CS. They showed up as the ally of an eliminated AI player and barely "friends" with me.
