  • That shouldn't be happening.

It starts of showing them all starving, but then the scenario loads properly and they're all growing... that's probably the same problem that it's having with the cash flow. I'm not sure what the problem is. It's like the scenario isn't loading right.

      • trip, i got to the screen where you pick a civ, and it crashed. i loaded it again, and got past it, but when the game starts it said that there was an error loading

        "art/whatever/confederatewhatever/confederateriflema"

tried it again and the same thing happened...

        • Hmmmm. That leads me to believe the .ZIP didn't extract correctly. Try 'installing' the scenario again, then tell me if it happens again. If it does, I want you to go into the Civ 3\Art\Units\Confederate Rifleman and open up the Confederate Rifleman.INI file and post what's in it.

            • Trip, did you make any changes in the new versions that could of caused these crashes, assuming they have v 1.29. Because with the earlier version, once i got winzip, i extracted and loaded up the game with ease. And since my fathers computer is pretty old, and runs windows 98, people with newer machines I would think should have less difficulty. The scenarios great btw! Some may not like the excessively long turns, due to the massive number of units, but i feel its adds a whole new strategic element to the game. Ive never played with that many before. I would also like to mention the map and its detail is great. And so far, the units and their stats seem to be well balanced. As I continue I'll update my opinions.

              • So far nearly everyone has been able to play fine, so I think it may just be them (otherwise why can everyone else play it fine?).

I have an older machine and Windows 98 SE, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

As far as the wide scope of the scenario, it's necassary due to the size of the map and the conflict overall.

                Hope everyone enjoys it.

                • Is there a certain Patch I have to have? I played it and the riflemen on both sides had errors so I deleted those and made a universal riflemen now it says that the calvalry wont work.

IMO, I agree completely. But others, who don't like to micromanage so much like I do, may not agree. But screw them, i think its great. They could always edit the scenario to their preference, i guess, since its not copy writed...

You need 1.29f to play the scenario.

Other than that, I'm not sure what the problem is. Everyone else seems to be playing it fine. What did you unzip it with? If WinZip what version?

                      • I have 1.29 and I unzipped it with a program called FreeZip it unzips just fine. Or does it have to be WinZip?

                        • It has to be WinZip or else the files won't go into the correct location. That's your problem.

                          Update:
The problem of the massive money shortage has been fixed. You will now make more cash.

Better make it Salisbury instead (my home town!)

                            • Hey, there's no diplomacy either, this scenario isn't exactly 'historically accurate' you know.
