I've played a few turns; I'll see if I can finish 'em and upload today.

That didn't take long at all, what with us being PATHETIC
STYOM, chief fool to King Soupy, arises through the bureaucracy to guide our silly nation.
420: Decides to ignore atawa's rule, thereby complying with rjm, Jrabbit, and BobSmurf's rules as well
No point in changing tax rates, so they are left at 3.0.7.
St. Augustine rates us Hopeless in Wealth. Ooh, yeah.
440: Not much. We assume the marketplace is being built in Bozo to switch to a library later. We seem to be building a LOT of marketplaces, despite not having the arrows to justify them, for the most part. This is, i expect, an attempt to avoid the human sacrifice rule
French start Copernicus!
460: Little happens.
480-500: Ditto.
520: Marketplace in Wabbit. Writing discovered. Researching... Bridge Building! Road discovered by Trireme at 32,50. Libraries rushed in Bozo and Leiden, to reduce our cash holdings.
540: Avignon (French) located.
Zulus discover Philosophy. Our tech rate is down to 7 turns.
560: Meet French, gift 50 g and Monarchy for alliance. Get Literacy in return Science=8 turns.
580: Nada. French are shown as uncooperative on Foreign ministry screen, and I don't want to lose the alliance yet.
600: New Chuckles founded, off a Trireme.
620: Much black clicking done with no safe journeys located. *scratches head, wondering how our Trireme made the 4-turn trip to France*
STYOM retires again... passing the torch to the fool-in-waiting

A few thoughts: Since we are building markets in lieu of temples, we'll need to jack up the luxury rate somewhat to get full benefit from them. I played with the rate a bit, and getting Bozo to celebrate would help our science, possibly to the point where the extra beakers would make up for a lowered science rate.
We may want to try to sneak some diplomats over to the French, if our alliance fails. They're still 'uncooperative', so I left them alone. When we meet another civ, we might be able make the alliance pay off for us, in techs. If not... rob them blind

My rationale for markets is to have “happiness” (eventually) without incurring “sacrifice”. Of course we can always build them during the despot years in a true just in time plan. (Building markets during periods of +luxuries implies some happiness benefits & enters into a gray area of our rules that I hoped to avoid.)
STYOM noticed you opted to ignore atawa’s rule for 420; what about four turns later? Good work with the French by the way.
What should the penalty be for rule violations? -- my vote is that the offenders must come up with and share a bad joke for each infraction! Atonement -- else we’ll have to seek out cable & look for old Dean Martin Roast events for the true grilling of silly offenders!

Hey, waitaminute!
Jrabbit -- MUST ignore (and document) one of the other rules during the player set of turns.
I ignored atawa's rule during my set of turns... ruling please...

OK, this has gone from amusing to confusing.
Silly Rabbit Rule --
Each player, exactly once per turnset, must ignore exactly one Silly Rule for exactly one turn. Violation must be noted in turnlog.
This is the original Jrabbit rule - slightly different from the way it was quoted in the summary. So I think Jrabbit's rule has been broken (which is slightly ironic since he also broke one of the rules).

The gods demand a joke from each of them.
OK, OK
(Slightly off-colour joke follows)
A rather confident man walks into a bar, and sits down at the bar next to a very attractive woman.
After a minute or two, she notices that he's continually glancing at his watch. "Is your date running late, or something?" she asks him.
"No," he answers, "this is actually a new watch, the latest thing - it communicates with me via alpha waves."
"Oh really," the woman asks, "what is it telling you now?"
He looks at her and says, "Well, it's telling me that you aren't wearing any panties..."
She laughs and says, "Well, your watch is wrong, because I AM wearing panties!"
The man looks annoyed and starts to tap at the watch face with his finger, saying, "Damn thing must be an hour fast."

(Rate R for promoting alcohol and tobacco products)
A man is stranded on a remote Pacific island, surviving on coconuts, bananas, and fish. During his near-constant vigil in search of help, he spots something moving in the water, coming his way. Suddenly, out of the surf rises a beautiful woman in a wetsuit with full scuba gear.
She approaches him with a sly smile on her face, removes her tanks and mask, and says, "Tell me, sailor, how long has it been since you've had a drink?"
"As long as I've been here, over a year!" he replies.
The woman unzips a compartment of her wetsuit, producing a flask. "Well, I happen to have some fine aged cognac with me. Here you go," she says, and hands it to him. He takes a long pull and hands it back.
"Wow! That was fantastic!" he says.
"Do you smoke?" she asks.
"I used to but it's been over a year now," says the man. "I'd do anything for a cigarette."
Smiling slyly, the woman unzips another pocket of her wetsuit, producing a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. She hands them over and says, "Enjoy," watching with obvious delight as the bearded, unkempt castaway savors each puff.
By the time he finishes, the man is dreamy-eyed. "That was fantastic!" he says. "You can't possibly know what this means to me."
"Oh, but I think I do," replies the woman. "But we're not done yet. Tell me, when was the last time you played around?" she asks with a knowing grin, and begins to pull down the large, main zipper on the front of her wetsuit.
"Oh, sweet Jesus!" the castaway fairly shouts. "Don't tell me you've got golf clubs in there, too!!"
