    • I think our best shot at winning is to capture a happiness WoW. To have a temple, marketplace, and a WoW in a city and still have it in disorder -- very diescouraging. All those possible production points tied up in the 20 - 30% extra Lux really adds up! (or, more accurately, subtracts down...)

      And yes, the need for Navigation grows stronger with each turn. Our ability to explore and trade must be improved.

      IMHO, maximum cleverness will be required to win this one.

        • Happens to me every time I open a PC-based save on my Mac. Cool to hear it's a 2-way street.

          • /me is perversely delighted at the lengths people will go to to avoid his silly rule.

            Almost 1400 AD and we just learned Republic? uh oh This is starting to remind me of my very first Civ game, in which the Babylonians used nukes on my Phalanges.

              • Magellan in sight !

                Main events:

                1400: Revolution
                1420: Switch to Republic; 2 Sioux horsemen land close to Monty Python (we sell the temple inside)
                1440: Sioux take Monty Python
                1460: Our smiling diplomat breaks LF's rule and buys the city back (cost: 37g; income: 10g + 2 horsemen + 1 TECH TO BE CHOSEN BETWEEN: Astro, Mono, Myst, Navig, Philo, Pott, Seaf)
                We choose Navigation and start dreaming about Magellan: we have 3 camels, which means 5 needed.
                Research to ZERO (too bad: we were 2 turns from the Wheel; but Magellan would be so wonderful !)
                1480: Revolution (well, we had to, thank you Mr atawa
                )
                1500: Switch to Despo and we go on building camels as fast as we can.
                1530: French cancel alliance (and our whole fleet gets stuck in Old Chuckles because of LF's rule ); revolution (well, we had to )

                Magellan can be completed within 2 turns if my successor breaks LF's rule with one camel.

                I WOULD BE HAPPY IF THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE MAGELLAN MEANS 5 MOVES CARAVELS AND ... FREEDOM !

                • I mean freedom from my own rule, of course.
                  But this means freedom to sail anywhere and that would be great .

                  Here's the save (from 1550, sorry , I didn't notice that 'always wait at end of turn' wasn't in action)

                          Anyway, the log:

                          --Discover The Wheel, pick Banking
                          --Beeblebrox builds Magellan's Expedition->Courthouse
                          1610

                          --REVOLT!
                          1620
                          --Old Chuckles temple->caravel
                          --Pick Republic
                          1630
                          --Change taxes to fix disorder in ALL cities

                          1650
                          --REVOLT!

                          The settler with the camel is going toward Monty Python's temple, unless it's been paid for already.
                          New Chuckles has two triremes that can now(Well, for a while now, but I forgot) be moved.
