Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Our enforced Despotism is most excellent. Easy to track all these silly rules...
Silly Wabbit takes up residence in the city of Wabbit and paws through the eternal damnation of paperwork that comprises the Silly Rules in 725 BC.
Hmm. We're poor, our research rate is at 15 turns, and... well, not much more to say. Warrio4r, trirem move about, tentatively exploring.
700 BC -- Settlers built in Bozo, Wabbit.
675 BC -- Bozo starts required Palace.
650 BC -- a pretty boring time.
625 BC -- Spanish begin Hanging Gardens. Trirem lands engineer on wooded island to the west.
600 BC -- Island city of Monty Python is founded.
575 BC -- Sioux capital moved to Wounded Knee.
550 BC -- City of Fright Wig is founded. Research rate down to 12 turns, up to 64gp in treasury.
525 BC -- French cap moves to Lyons. Barb trireme spotted near Wabbit.
500 BC -- Settler built
475 BC -- 2 Barb archers land @Wabbit. Wabbit warrior attacks, wins, makes veteran.
450 BC -- Remaining Barb impales himself on our awesome defense. Their trireme disappears, with no King in evidence.
425 BC -- Spanish complete Hanging Garden of Seville.
400 BC -- Leidem builds Temple. We IGNORE STRAYBOW'S RULE and decline to sacrifice a settler. Silly Ones discover Construction, foolishly opt to study mathematics next. (Would have literally chosen anything else -- Monarchy, Polytheism, Trade, The Wheel, Writing...
375 BC -- English begin LH, but Zulus are nearly done already...
350 BC -- Beeblebrox founded, getting rid of last settler before Wabbit builds Temple (cleverly avoiding a rule...) Zulus complete Lighthouse of Zimbabwe, English abandon project. French begin Pyramids.
...and that's all for me. Wish I would have thought to hold my rule avoidance so I could actually choose a needed tech...
...weird to live in constant fear of screwing up by doing something that's just a natural part of playing the game.
NEED FOR RULING -- In the case of naval vessels, do the movement rules intervene? I maintained the diagonal movement rule for our trireme, but would suggest that THAT silly rule was actually designed for land units only.

anyway, Straybow, it's your turn...
I certainly assumed the diagonal movement rule applied to naval vessels. On the other hand I didn't think you could avoid the human sacrifice rule by not having a human to sacrifice, so maybe two rulings are required.
Re movement for naval, the silly rule states :"...for units that move 2 or 3" so I took it literally and moved diagonally only. But we should address this before more advanced units become available.
Re human sacs -- I thought it said must sacrifice (disband, presumably) a "settler or engineer": -- so if none, then nothing to disband. If it's "just kill something" I have no problem with offing the occasioal military unit...
Yeah. A lot to keep tabs on. I still wonder if I might have violated a rule and just didn't notice...
Oh, and here's another zipped savefile... try this if the other one's a problem...
If it is my call, I interpret that boats fall under the La Fayette’s rule -- but of course, 4, 5 & + move units are free from restrictions -- Magellan’s looks better already.
As I interpret the rule for happiness improvements, they must be completed by a sacrifice of a settler or engineer -- thus no temples until the last twenty shields are donated by a fallen builder -- thus the next player should switch said structure to a library or other item. Could switch it to a market as long as luxuries are zero or a courthouse while we’re not in Democracy.
This also means that we won’t be able to build temples if we don’t have extra settlers around to bump off. I think that alternatives that would be allowed would be to incremental rush buy a settler, switch to a temple & then rush buy it, or some other method that has a settler die, even if his shields aren’t the “last”.
Those with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

So we’re waiting for Straybow?
What is our usual protocol for delay?
That's your call, but I generally request in games I start, that the next player on the list post within 3 days after the last turnsave has been posted.
That doesn't mean they have to play within 3 days - that just means they should post and indicate a timeframe in which they will play. Or alternatively, pass.
