Wow, those are really great fairline I also like how your included brigade and divisional shields'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Can anyone make a decent French infantry unit from either the 1st or 2nd WW? It´s the helmet that´s so difficult.

Jim: I hope you realise youv'e screwed up St Leo's excellent graphics thread classification by posting my late 19th century units - then again, so have I by posting this WW1 bloke in the WW2 section

They look very sweet, but were some of the originals also shadowless?Blog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

The novelty factor is appealing. Actually, I think this would work much better with units that are twice as small.Blog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

Here is a small look at the fair Captain's progression of unit design. At top we see an old Tiger I, from 2194v1. As you can see, the entire chassis is less well-defined, and the turret is much larger than the later 'current' one. However when juxtaposing the two, I think the actual turret size to be somewhere in between. Unfortunately, the huge forward facing turret is of no use to us really. might be nice to try and enlarge the curret Tiger's turret a tad though.
Below is the IS-2. Horrible in its first incarnation in 2194v1, and interestingly nice in RF1.1. Then we have our fammiliar 'current' build. I dont like the turret on the current build particularly, it is too bubble-like. If you take a good close look at the 2nd IS-2, I think you'll find that that turret is really nice indeed. Not particularly a turret of an IS-2, more of the T-34/76 variety. Note the angled, rounded section at the front side of the turret. I'll try to post some pics of the tank IRL to exemplify the area I'm talking about.
*beware St Leo, Socialist Machismo Decal ahead*
I think I'll see what that turret looks like on a T-34 chassis. It might be better sized for the 'current' IS-2's chassis, which is slightly better than the 2nd. However, it too isnt a proper IS-2 turret either. Hrmpf.
