We haven't discovered it yet, have we? Thanks for the tip, I would probably not have thought of that. That means we can stop researching in the near future (I for one intend to conquer, not transcend).

IT'S DONE!
It is 1825 in Earth Years. An interplanetary war rages between the peaceful, George Harrison-loving Celts and the cruel Brr'til, who seem to favour the Monkees. Thus, it must be a war of extermination. Six Thousand Year Old Man is dragged away from his California-style ranch hometo lead the slaughter, all others having sickened at the thought of using Plasmen and Dreadnoughts against stationary Chon-ee.
Hey, nobody said life was fair, Brr'til. Particularly 'human life'.
Let the slaughter begin...
1825: Taxes adjusted to 6.4.0 (0 science). Colonists rushed in some former Japanese cities (for building teleporters). Spy rushed in Wess. Other improvements rushed in former Japanese and French cities (to facilitate building war units). Starport rushed in Carmarthen.
Funny dog-like aliens attack our Plasmen and get toasted.
Smer revolts and government collapses. Ooops.Fundamentalism formed. Three cheers for Druid STYOM!
1826: Stuff is built. Kabul captured from Brr'til.
1827: Khanbalyk captured from Brr'til. Kazan captured from Brr'til. Cyborg and Teleporter landed near Tilani.
1828: Joie captured. Argulot revolts to our cause.
Brr'til develop Machine Tools ("Look out! That alien's got a LATHE!").
Something that sounds like a dying sheep attacks our Teleporter outside Lol Ept, and apparently dies. Maybe it WAS a sheep?
1829: Massiter captured. Lol Ept captured. Tipaly captured. Inhaba revolts. Transport loaded with 3 Plasmen, 3 Cyborg, an Entrix and a Howitzer (how quaint!) sets sail from Kabul, destination Tilani.
Brr'til rebuff our ambassador.
1830: Tilani captured after lengthy bombardment by Dreadnoughts. Lighthouse captured (woo hoo!). Fesheti captured. Ghelis On captured. Epo captured.
1831: Population hits 100,000,000. Qistan captured. Basra captured. Diseman razed by Dreadnought. Taxes adjusted to 2.8.0.
1832: Khorasan captured. Vok captured. Per'ta captured.
1833: Ormuz captured. Shangtu captured. Manhattan Project rushbuilt. Final Brr'tilian city, Ingoba, bombarded by Dreadnought.
Brr'tilian marines land near Carmarthen!! (ok, just kidding).
Ingoba captured by fleet of Dreadnoughts. Brr'til defeated.
(savegame attached prior to fall of Ingoba)

You rack, I'll buy the next round.

I think I´ll be playing this game a couple of times more, to see how I manage on my own, compared to this game...
I´m definitely in for another succession game

Hail to the Conquerors! Congrats on the victory... Been reading this thread for a while now, was worried that game wouldn't finish, but that was some blitzkrieg of a finish, Six Thousand Year Old Man!
If you need a somewhat rusty king level player for another game , just let me know- sounds like it was fun.

Thanks for the kudos, Sharpe. Although by that point it was just a case of rushing lots of attackers - we had tons of cash in the bank! Plus I missed out on conquering the earth
OK, the next game: I should probably start a new thread, but anyway...
How about we try Emperor or Deity? Same settings otherwise... on King, we sort of ran roughshod over everyone almost from the get-go.
or
How about the Fantasy game, as the Humans (Large/Raging)? I found the Goblins and Stygians are really, really numerous the few times I played that game, even on King. Could be fun.
anyone else have any thoughts?

How about the Infidels in The Midgard Scenario?
Great game, guys!
Lots to learn about.
Next game could be playing the Infidels in the Midgard Scenario.
That would be a greater chalenge than playing the humans.
If I recall correctly, the first events relating to Volsang's Return totally destroy the Infidel's Hometown forcing them to conquer higher ground real soon. There would be pressure from turn one even in King level!
And, STYOM, your right, the Stigians and the Goblins (mostly those) grow like crazy!!!
I don't know if I could play (I'm not even a King level player so I should would make everybody else's game interesting), but I sure would like to follow such a game.

Hey guys! I've been following this game, and I'm interested in joining you, if you don't mind!
I accept to play on any game, but I would really like to play a Sci-Fi! I really love those units! And we get an extra challenge for not slaughter the alien civs, because we will need their unique technologies... for a while, of course!
One more thing: I vote for King dificulty level.

Well, I've never played either of the Sci-fi or Midguard scenariosso I can't really comment on them. I think I'd better try Midguard before my turn comes up, if we do play it.
I'm pretty flexible, as to what game we play. I do think we should probably aim high, so far as the level we choose - definitely King at least, higher if there's Deity players involved.
Ecowiz, Zealot: Don't worry about playing at a higher level. The idea is that everyone contributes and it's challenging for everyone. I'm sure I messed up stuff in the last game, but so what? Gives the next player a challengeAnd you can learn a lot from watching others - for example, the second time my turn came around I found out about the advantages of having the science city celebrate while in Monarchy, which is something I had never done before
Also, I think MBloomIII's 96 hour rule is a good one. For the new game I propose that after 1 person plays and posts, the next player has 96 hours to play their turns. If they don't play or post before then, anyone else on the list can play that person's turns, provided they post saying that they're downloading and playing it. (this should avoid 3 people playing at once) Once they post, it goes to the next player on the list. Sound fair? It should keep things moving at least (provided there's always someone interested in playing, of course).
The list so far looks like:
Mercator
MBloomIII
Sharpe
Zealot
STYOM
Ecowiz, JoeK, Hydey... anyone else interested?

I really find the sci-fi games very amusing and challenging. Either with the humans or with the aliens. But humans are more amusing, IMO.
So I would really like to play a Sci-Fi with you guys, if that's ok.
I already won this game by conquest and spaceship, I think. But I also think that there are 2 more victory paths. I think we should pick one of those."BANANA POWAAAAH!!! (exclamation Zopperoni style)" - Mercator, in the OT 'What fruit are you?' thread

I've never played the scenarios either. Sci-fi sounds best to me. But since most of us would be relative novices at this, I'd vote King level for scenarios, emporer for a 'normal' game.
PS - Don't be afraid to jump in and play. You're not being graded on this, it's just for fun. If someone dies, we start over. No big deal.

Sci-fi games aren't scenarios. They're just a regular game with different units, structures, and some rules too.IMO anyway.
But since you all haven't played on sci-fi, why not play at prince? Because I really never played on anything beyond prince!
I did try Deity, but didn't find it any amusing, since my cities went into revolt constantly and the AI cheated like hell..."BANANA POWAAAAH!!! (exclamation Zopperoni style)" - Mercator, in the OT 'What fruit are you?' thread

I´ve never played the sci-fi game either... And I´d rather do the Midgard scenario (although I´m not too familiar with that either), but well, anything´s fine by me.
And Zealot, I only play at Prince and King levels myself (and I´m not very good at it either). As long as there are enough Deity players to counter our incompetencewe´ll be fine.
And it looks like the next succession game will be Midgard or Sci-fi, so I guess the difficulty level will be King?
