      • Thanks, PietH!

After your campaign, do you have any suggestions that
might lead to a greater challenge for the Allied player?

Any game aspects that stick out?

        • I think that in the early stages, the allied player has little production power. When I rounded up every unit available to make an attack on Rennes in late '41, I expected the Germans to hit back hard. Had the Germans done so, it would have taken a long time carry out another invasion.

Strangely enough the french and romanians were far more agressive then the Germans.
I would suggest more offensive units in exchange for defensive units being kept in western europe. Funny thing is, that starting as the Germans, you do have some tanks, stukas, fighters and HE111s in Europe. They would have come to good use repelling the allies. But the AI probably moved them all eastward.

Some artillery in the cities, to attack units around the cities, tanks to attack the lost cities and fighters and bombers to attack the units in the field. That forces you to have balance in your units, and not just a wave of Sextons/Priests walzing over every city.

          • I think perhaps a few events added that spawn German units in reaction to certain cities being taken?

            • yes, that would work I think. Some hard hitting units that will make life difficult. But define these cities over a broad line, to prevent players from circumventing these cities and avoid the hard fight until much later.

                • One more question: Did you work in the starvation bit during winter time on purpose? A very large proportion of cities have food shortages in the winter, no matter how much you farm the land.

Oh, and I'm playing a game as the russians now, lots of fun. Managed to hold on to Kiev and Smolensk, now slowly turning the tide. Getting AA, lots and lots of them, is essential in the beginning.

                  • Good show with the defence of Russia! You may find it a bit tougher in the new version!

                    PS
The starvation is on purpose - It is to represent the hardship of cities like Leningrad, etc.

Look forward to your reaction on the new version, with the new unit stats!

                    • My partisans and AA's keep getting bribed by those damn axis.

                      • I'll fix the AA to become non-bribers - The partisans, might be left with a higher price tag though...

Even a freedom fighter can be have his price!

                        • fair enough

I've noticed some misplaced Finnish generals, spawning somewhere near Gomel.

I've encountered another errormessage when loading the Winter '43 files. Either the game just loads (apparantly without the event files) or I get an error message. It's probably just my messed up installation, but maybe you can check the event files for winter '43 just once more to see if there are indeed no errors in it.

                          • I'll check these errors tonight! Cheers for the heads up!

Update of stats (for all 11 rules) 50% complete...Just the tanks to go...!
