  • Thanks Thoth
The scenario proper is more or less finished. RL has been slowing things down for a while. Right now I'm in the debug and polish phase, so basically I'm not sure exactly about a release date as such but there might be a beta in the near future

I don't know if you are still having a problem with the barbarians but recently I was reading about the Barbarian Wrath setting that Kull used in Seeds of Greatness. Apparently a guy called Rob Roy hex edited the game so that it was set one notch higher than Raging Hordes. That way lots of HUGE hordes should appear.

I don't know if that would be useful to you?

      • I'm not 100% sure, but I thought that you didn't need to hex-edit to get the 2 barbarian levels above raging horde, but just to add them manually in 1 of the text files?

            • Interesting. Barbarian uprisings do occur, but only when playing the game as a specific civ; ie never with 'no human player'. That fixes that I guess

Still don't know quite whats going on with the phantom food situation. Just a chance though, I know republic&democracy gov't square have more trade, I didn't think the same went for food... does it?

Does anybody know of a scenario, besides 'seeds of greatness' that incorporates the dreaded barbarian wrath setting?

                  Dave, that IS funny!

On the other hand I doubt that Princeteon is currently interested in that particular line of research.

However, don't despair. There is a tenured opening for an expert in searching for the Holy Grail at the Central Florida Bible School and Football Factory here in Tampa. Give it some serious thought.

                  • Has anyone here noticed a bug whereby ToT only recognizes the first title in the row of civ-specific titles for 'leader of government' in the rules.txt?

I've noticed that the game reads the titles from the @GOVERNMENTS table instead of @LEADERS. I posted a workaround in this thread at CFC.

The workaround isn't perfect: I think for it to work for the human player it requires the game to be saved and reloaded. The titles for AI tribes are set correctly at scenario start. Best I can do, I'm afraid.

Can you reproduce this? If you can, post a saved game and rules file. I'll check the former with a hex editor.
