Not as far as I know. However, if you are using RANDOMIZE and some of the locations are enemy occupied, you may get fewer units than specified by COUNT=.

Thanks gents
I've another question for you. Might it be possible to hex edit a save into having multiple instances of one specific wonder, Leonardo's for instance, running in parallel in different cities? ...Funny question, I knowSea Kings TOT

I didn't think so. From the Hex-Editing Bible:
2. START OF SAVED GAME FILE
266-321 All 28 wonders have 2 bytes of information for them, so in total the block for all wonders is 56 bytes long:
FF FF The wonder has not yet been built.
EF FF The wonder is destroyed (city where it stood is not stored).
otherwise the number is the city ID number. 00 00 the first city built, etc.

Happy Day After Halloween everyone; may you all be nursing your hangovers in finest form!
Greatly belated thanks Boco. How is married life treating you by the way?
On the subject of html readmes. I personally greatly enjoy and admire in-depth readmes I see in other people's scenarios, but I'd like to learn more of creating them myself. Does anybody with experience of these have any helpful tips?Sea Kings TOT

This guy brought 80% rum.. And I always enjoy trying new things.. You can easily figure out the rest..
Sorry for OT. I used to know the html-deal, but I've honestly forgot most of it (maybe 'cause of the rum?), but I guess others can help. You need a html-editor of some sort."Peace cannot be kept by force.

Here is some useful info on html. I have managed to build some good looking, if rather basic pages with these tips. (EDIT: See post below!)

I learned by opening up other peoples web pages and copying what they did. Just open the page in notepad and when you are finished editing save it to your desktop as YOURPAGENAME.html. When you double click on it then it should look something like a web page!
No doubt there are programs out to make building pages quick and easy but I found doing it from scratch was very interesting as you can see how it all works.Attached FilesLast edited by McMonkey; November 2, 2008, 13:05.

Hi everyone. I've been rather busy with RL concerns for some time, but recently I've had time to work on that extremely dilatory scenario of mine I've taken a long hard look at my events file and winnowed out a lot of the pointless or redundant events, replacing them with new tribal and sea people events that should greatly add to the volatility of the later stages of the game. I've also split the events three ways so that you will have a more historical experience depending on whom it is you're playing as. I think this is a good decision because playing as the Hittites, for instance, the northern Kashka were either weak and not interesting to fight, or when playing as another civilization they would completely overpower and wipe out the Hittites early in the game. I chalk that up to the huge differences between the way humans and ai play civ2. But it is important to feel a little challenged when playing something for it to be fun.
I've also been able to spend some time dealing with various ongoing balance issues. I think these are important to deal with because I know from personal experience that even in my favorite scenarios little game play imbalances can tend to sap some of the enjoyment of the game.
I'm wondering if anybody has any theories about what the effect of embassies on a.i. behavior is, if there is any. There doesn't seem to be anything about it in the strategy forum... but I seem to recall hearing somewhere that having an embassy with a civilization makes them less belligerent towards you?
Happy new year everyoneSea Kings TOT

Close sounds good. I have found that trying to set solid dates is an exercise in futility. It will be ready when it's ready I am especially interested in this project as it is a period of history I have been reading more about recently and I find a CivII scenario can give a you a whole new perspective on historical events.

Hi
A noticed a bug recently when I was testing sea kings; perhaps one of you gentlemen have encountered it. A unit stops appearing on the build choice menu somewhat through the game (as if obsolete) even though the civ in question doesn't posses the obsoleting technology. What might it be?
Edit: The mystery deepens. In fact several, (but not all) separate civilization's units with identical stats are also unbuildable even though nobody has discovered the obsoleting technology. For reference the musketeer slot is empty and the knight slot is available to only one civ (which was not one of the affected civs). What a conundrumLast edited by EZRhino; April 8, 2009, 21:14.Sea Kings TOT

Mystery solved. Gunpowder makes obsolete all units with less defense than the Musketeer slot. Newbie mistakeSea Kings TOT
