    Thanks, ST. And perfect timing!

Played 30 second turns for both the Minoans (discovered Pictographs) and Hittites. Nothing special for either. But partial movements worked for both, which always makes me feel "special".

If this is still your off day, Plat, you're up with the Babs. Else, Palaiologus may be able to help you out again, tomorrow.

      • Plat i believe you posted the wrong file.

All of your units have a full movement allowance and ctr-n has not been used. Moreover please center yor screen on an unexplored part of the map before saving.

In case i'm wrong(and it was intentional on your part) here is my turn.

          • I think ctrl-n says you are done with your turn. Otherwise, the AI may play part of your turn for you.

You can worry about running out of black areas in about 6 years (it hasn't happened in Game #1 yet).

The easiest way to post a save is "post reply", "browse" and select your *.hot file, probably ha_b3460.hot.

                    Dude no problem.
I already pressed ctrl-n for you-i simply left your units were they were.
This is just a test, lets get moving.

from the orignal turn I played, I thought I did move all units up to the point they would not ..hmmmm

loading the save from this quoted post, it comes up with the Assirans turn

                      • To keep things moving, I have played the Egyptians from Pal's save. But if anyone wants to back up, I don't mind replaying.

Platypus - When you have time, maybe you can play your previous turn again, just for practice with RobRoy's directions. Post the save here and we can check it out for you. After you get used to it, a turn should only take a couple of minutes.

You probably did. But it appears that you, then, uploaded the autosave file that was written at the beginning of your turn, rather than the saved file that you would have generated at the end of your turn (via Ctrl-S, after your Ctrl-N). You get prompted for a file name when you save, so you can change it to something more mnemonic if you'd like, but the default name of your saved file should have been something like Ha_b3460.hot, as Peaster said.

But like Pal said, we want to keep moving, we're trying for a 24 hour turn-around for this test and it's no big deal. Pal would've been happy to move for you, I suspect; we're generally having the next person in line do the turn, rather than having a skip. But there was a possibility that you had left some units in place intentionally.

Yes, the Assyrians completed their turn, pressed Ctrl-N, centered on black, saved while it was still his turn, and uploaded. This is how the file should to be for the next player (Egyptian). For Babylon, you would use the Hittite end-of-turn save and should see a black screen at the end of the Hittite turn (of course, you should rapidly "Enter" past to avoid getting any inappropriate information on Hittite map or dispositions).

As Peaster said, redo your turn, if for no other reason than practice. But you need to do it from the Hittite save (Mu_b3460.hot, I think). If the missed turn bothers you, sing out before my turn. I could just cycle through the next game-turn, skipping everyone else, but applying your move. That would probably be quicker than having Pal and Peaster redo their turns. 'Course if anyone objects to this, sing out louder.

So ST, you're up! Greeks and Persians, again, please, if possible.

Straybow, if you're interested you're welcome to claim either the Greeks (ST has been handling), or the Minoans (I've been handling). In fact, Peaster has you down as a definite "Maybe", assigned to the Minoans...hmmm...you're late!

                          • played the orignal save

found out that if I move the last unit to the fullest, the turn ends automatically and goes to the next civ

so I did not move the last unit, so I could center on a black area and save

                            the save

                            right ?

                            • Platy - I am not sure what went wrong. Maybe you should review the directions again. Also, the CivFanatics site has info about playing turns in PBEMs which might help.

When I opened your save, all your units were still waiting to move. Also, the screen was not centered on black. You can open it yourself to check this.

Did you make more than one save ? Maybe you posted the wrong one ? Your filename has some digits in front of the "ha_b3460" which I don't recognize - could this save be an auto-save ?? It also appears that you posted the save in some unusual way, though that should not cause these problems.

You should have the "Always wait at end of turn" box checked (under the Game options). So when you move all your units (or hit ctrl-n) you should get a flashing message "End of Turn - Press Enter". Then press ctrl-n, [even if all your units have moved] center on black, right click, and save.

ST says he will play today.

I have to go out of town for the weekend and ST seems to be MIA, 24+ hours later, so I went ahead and did his turn(s) and mine, to keep things moving.

ST, if there was something special you were planning and I screwed it up, feel free to do your turn yourself. But then you have to do the Minoans and Hittites, again, too.

Plat, here's your chance to practice with the live file again. Palaiologus, you're on deck.

If things somehow move quickly and I'm up before Sunday evening, maybe ST can return the favor?
