Greeks: it looks red guys don't intend to attack a city on rivered hills defended by a vet fortified skirmisher (Sparta)
hmmm...let's see if this continues to be true. It seems to me river-hill cities were still attacked in SP wrath games, I've played. Could just be something squirrely in the barb movement/attack algorithms. Congrats on the new horde, though.
Minoans: Pirates landing in the south of my main island...Settlers flee. Popped a hut for a city. Looks like the Egyptians have cleaned out all the huts from the Libyan desert in Minoan range. Minos wonders whether island position is worth his limited access to goody huts.
Hittites: Slavers raid two red towns...one becomes veteran. Popped four huts: 3 mercs, 1 tech (Monarchy!). Found the Egyptians, gave them techs (13, I think). Only two red men from Scythian horde left. High Priest gives thanks for recent successes and directs Settlers to be fruitful and multiply. In his private moments, he wonders whether he could call himself a King...
Peaster can you gift the techs to the Minoans, then they can help out the Greeks. Might as well ask the Minoans for Sail, while you're at it, and pass that back along...lotsa better wonders to worry about, now, I think. Pal, I'm assuming you've been sharing with Platy? That should give everyone but the Persians a decent tech base. I'm still several turns from them. Remember we're pooling all techs, right guys?! ST, did you say you didn't want to participate in the tech pool? Or have barb incursions changed your mind?

An Egyptian skirmisher defeated a battering ram at the newly built gates of Heliopolis.
Thanks to Hattas for the scientific help. Egypt disbanded a skirmisher unit to make a ladder tower, planning to use it from inside our besieged city - despite Hittite advice to use these outside.
I didn't notice the Hittite request to pass the science on to Minos, but can do that via civ2dip now, or thru the foriegn minister next turn.
Greece:
Argos has been destroyed.
Sparta has been attacked, probably by a BI, BattRams do nothing... The fortified vet skirm on rivered hills survived and healed.
>Minos wonders whether island position is worth his limited access to goody huts.
You deprived Greeks of most huts and slaves and you are whinning?
>ST, did you say you didn't want to participate in the tech pool? Or have barb incursions changed your mind?
I want not to participate precisely because of barb incursions. I want to see if I can still resist.

Good thought. I suspect everyone is using slightly different tactics against barbs, also. It'll be interesting to compare notes at intervals to see what approaches work better. For examle I'm avoiding building extra cities, like I'd normally do, to avoid giving barbs extra targets (plus I'm convinced you get better hut results when you only have one city on the map). 'Course it helps when most of your horde decides to run away!
Minoans - still wandering around looking for huts...Minos commiserates with the Greeks for their similar lack of huts, but noticed that several Minoan hut locations were already popped by the time the Minoans arrived. Perhaps the early arrival of an unruly barbie horde interfered with Greek plans to seize yet more Minoan huts? Meanwhile, settlers in mountains and forests prepare for another pirate raid. Peaster, just use the F3 screen to trade/gift the techs. I'd prefer to wait a few turns and see how these barb incursions play out before experimenting with Civ2Dip.
Hittites - one successful slave raid, almost killed off the attacker. One hut produced an ugly red horse, now dead. Keep running into Egyptians...Last two barbs from Scythian horde refuse to join their comrades and continue marching toward the capital. The High Priest, consulting various oracles and databases has determined next turn or the turn after is the best turn to conduct his coup.
I'm in the middle of nowhere Friday-Sunday. Be back late Sunday. But if my turn rolls around, don't dither around waiting on me. ST why don't you just CTRL-N the Minoans after the Greeks move, if I haven't reported back, unless you feel comfortable moving them. And Platy, can you then load as the Minoans and CTRL-N through the Hittites, unless you feel comfortable playing them? I'd prefer to skip a turn and keep things moving...

Minoans - Found part of the Greeks "Dorian" horde at the isthmus...ran away. Do you want any help ST? Popped 1 hut = 1 tech.
Hittites - Slavers killed a fortified town, but took casualties. 6 huts = 2 techs, 2 cash, 2 barbs. Barbs still alive; never do a turn when too sleepy to count movement points remaining
BTW, Hittites got a message that ANOTHER horde appeared near "Macedonians".
Amazingly enough the Assyrian army has absolutely no problem against the barbarian hordes. I suppose that this means that most of the savages have turned thier attention to the neighboring civilizations, much to the Assyrian monarch's delight.
