Good idea, I think I'll try to foucs on that, but what could I remake the extra wonders into and what events should they hinge upon?

Also, I have a problem. The Egyptian Grain wonder (pyramids) keeps changing its obsolescence tech between Roman tech, Marian reforms, and Diocletian reforms. I have no idea why. Every time I change the obsolecence back to nil the wonder keeps changing it to one of the three. All the techs mentioned are technically researchable at this point. Any ideas?

EDIT: Well I swithc the obsolescence to some other tech way down the list and it seems to stay put.

    • Ok, I might as well post the next beta with the changes made. Some of the wonders that were "overloading" the build menu have been removed until something can be thought up for them.

      BETA 1.3 obsolete.

      • Ok, as I forever update and edit the scenario, here's a few changes that will make it into beta1.4.

        - The Great Leader unit name has been changed to Great Roman. Scipio will appear on turn 5, not turn 2.

        - A Non-Roman unit called "Great Leader" has been created that will be created by events. Carthage will have one for Hannibal starting off.

        - Carthaginian and Macedonian cities have been given temples and will be building military units at the start of the scenario.

        - Carthage has two NON supported triremes at the start.

        - I just now saw the UNITKILLED Great Leader text mistake that Curt was really pointing too. I fixed that.

I still have plenty of unit slots open for barbarians.

        • - Max turns set to 1000, which should include the Hun invasion.

          - Fixed some event stuff.

                    • More fairline units added to the forum will bennifit us all!! I wonder if anyone, yourself included Gareth has even a rough idea of how many units you've made over the years for your own and others projects?

This game is shaping up to be a real classic HT .

                      • Alright, here's Beta 1.4.

Changes are the same as above plus I have given Carthage some teeth, so beware!

                        BETA 1.5 out, 1.4 obsolete.

                            Awesome

So.... Does anyone have any critiques?

                            • When are you going to replace the units?

Have you thought about giving the Marian and Imperial legions an mf of 172 (i.e. 4/3)?

The unit names with numbers seem sterile. There also seems to be an inconsistent mix of Latin and English names. Did I miss anything about this in earlier posts? I'll bet some of the grognards around here have niftier ones.

Hope this nitpicking doesn't sound too harsh. It looks like it's shaping up very well.

Oh don't worry about it, the nitpicking is what the scenario needs right now. The unit names will change, of course. I don't remember any Celts using numbers to describe themselves. Any suggestions out of antiquity I can use?

What names are mixed up? I would like to use primarily Latin for the Romans, but some of the unit names for the build at least are too long. I'll have to include the full names at the end of the build because of the character limit using the ingame editor (which, oddly enough, has worked fine just as long as I stick to saving and reloading every major change).

I'll check out the a/d ratio for the legions and see how they fare. That seems like a decent ratio.

                                Thanks for the input
