    • ah ok, a little breakthrough, I colored the top bar on the right flag yellow and the blue became a light blue...

      • Ok, I think I know what the problem is. I'm getting different shades when I drop in colors from the ToT original and my cities file. I think my old file needs to be upgraded to a higher format...

        • Yep, that was it, my color depth was way too low. Fixed now.

          • You know that ToT by default makes the health bar civ colour much darker than the city shield colour Harry? There's nothing you can do about that.

BTW, if you are having problems cutting and pasting from a gif into a bmp with MS Paint, use PSP.

            • Yeah I read that. I used PSP to covert the color depth, but I think I might just redo the entire file using one of the ToT original game files. I shortcutted and just used the old Civ2 cities.bmp, but that just won't cut it.

              • You're right; always cut and paste from your mge files into existing ToT templates. If you want me to help out with anything, give me a shout.

                  • I am sure that Merc or Catfish are the men to PM about colour levels in ToT...

In fact, Merc has a utility called CIV-Sprite that can affect this aspect, I recall.

                    • Ok, colors coverted, graphics done for the map, for the time being.

Does anyone have a map of an ancient non-desert Sahara?

Also a map with the locations of ancient salt mines would be appreciated.

                      • Some new ideas for the ToT upgrade:

                        Units -

                        - Attila the Hun
                        - Barbarian Invasion Units (5 combat units)
                        - Barbarian Invasion Tribe Units (4-5 non combat units)
                        - Outward tribe units (4-5 combat and non combat) representing the "supposed" tribal migrations in what is now Western Russia
                        - Roman units (siege weapons)
                        - Additional units used for Parthians

                        New Events -

                        - Some unit migration events
                        - Flagged events
                        - More historical popup events

                        Tech Tree -

                        - Reworked & revamped

                        Sounds -

                        - Units sounds

Anything else you think I should add in?

                        • Thought of another one: Tribal Babarian cities in Gaul. They had somewhat large population centers I remember.

                          • And if I have room I think I'll add some more hero units for the Romans. Pompeii, Caesar, Marc Antony & Cleopatra (Combined), Constantine, Marcus Aurelius maybe.

                            • Gengis Khan? He was about 800 years after the fall of the Roman Empire. Do you mean Attila?
