  • Yes but if the war continues all the way to 1918 the armies of Germany will be totaly exhausted, and they are forced to send 15-16 year old kids to the frontline.
The french are sending every man they can find into the frontlines, resulting in economic crisis in the homeland.

These events are very important to make it realistic and historical.

    • @ Erika: To get Civ-specific units is rather easy.

      For example:

Each nation's basic infantry has "Conscription" as prerequesite tech. Now the trick is the following: You need a tech for each civ to be human-controlled and name it "NOT Civ1", "NOT Civ2", etc.

Then get the rules file, scroll down to the unit list. It looks like this:

      German Troops, nil, 0, 2,0., 5a (...), Csc, 000000000000
      British Troops, nil, 0, 2,0., 5a (...), Csc, 000000000000

You´d need to change the expiration tech ("nil") to the respective "NOT Civ1", "NOT Civ2" tech.

      Is this clear?

      • thanks,
now i just have to rewrite the rules.txt, there seem to be missing lines and other rather gaping holes

            • I'd go with a mix of the two, actually. Some generic techs are needed, as Future Tech must be available to everyone. I'd say techs that grant improvements and generic units should be generic, whereas techs that grant civ-specific units could be civ-specific.

              • I have found a valuable site with where you can find some inspiration for a further improved title

"Et deus dixit fiat lux !"
"Everything is proceeding as i have foreseen."
"I love Democracy Ilove the Republic ..."

                • I am going to go with multable unit files, just to make the change in infantry a bit easier (for me anyways )
anyways, here is the units file (again, )
as you can see i have a lot of units to find, the fanatic slot and the last row will be blank in the first file, as will a number of other slots, in the second file they will be used for specialised units that did not show up until later in the war

                        • I put my money on 1915 =) However I think the germans renewed their outfits in 1916...but it won't really matter, I guess the point of making these scenarios is to grant the ability to change the historical outcome.

                          • i'll do 1916, then the second unit file will upgrade all the infantry and allow the production of tanks, (assuming the necissary techs are researched of course) also i'm thinking of introducing upgraded naval units, that will simulate the heavier dreadnoughts that were introduced then,
I am going to use a couple of wonders, one for britain and one for france, they will help boost production, but when germany introduces unrestricted submarine warfare, these wonders will become obsolete and their effects will stop, plus the US will enter the war after a bit on the allied side,
if germany doesn't research it, then britain and france will still enjoy boosted production, i will also use wonders and events to make all of the powers production, income and food start plummeting in the later war years,
