Well, you do have four unit slots still open on that units.gif. You could fill it with a doughboy, American plane, American ship, and maybe American tank unit. You should, however, put US units under French (or German, if you have a two-alternative entry system) as opposed to making them their own civ: they shouldn't have cities on the map, and playing them before 1917 would be a drudge.

What I suggested before for another WW1 scenario with regard to how to control US entry into the war is to use a two tech trigger approach (if the US is a separate Civ).

If the German player researches "Unrestricted U-Boats", the American player will receive a technology via events e.g. "American Anger 1". If the British player researches the "Cryptography" advance, they can deipher the Zimmerman telegram (the direct trigger for US entry into the war) leading to the US receiving "American Anger 2". The "American Anger" techs are prerequisites for the advance "Declaration of War" which the USA can now choose to research.

In this way American entry into the war is dependent on what the other players research. It's random, but unlike simply having a randomturn makeaggression event, this fulfils a realistic set of criteria for it to occur.

I would like to recommend that link here:

It deals with the German change in military attack doctrine during World War One - which is commonly referred to as 'Infiltration Tactics' - and shows that in 1917/18 there were only two types of infantry units left: defensible units with rather no offensive value - and Sturmtruppen tactics trained troops .... more than 50 divisions of the army in France was considered to consist of Sturmtruppen though ...

I think you should include this though I, however, have not too many clues HOW

It's kind of hard to post city locations when i don't have a map, I am a perfectionist when it comes to maps, and therefore i am very picky about the map, first i need to weed out the 17 quadrillion bugs from the rules.txt, then i can get the game to launch, then i can start screwing with the map.

I think i will make turkey the most challenging side to play,
they will have to reconquer egypt, libya, greece, albania, crimea and many other area's that they have no chance of taking whatsoever. And most of their cities will be going bankrupt and their army will suck. basicly, not recommended to play unless you like losing.

I'm thinking that the TOT Version will have different units for each side (except transports, crusiers, subs ect)
There will also be central powers artillery and allied artillery,
                  same for some other units,
The only problem is noone has made a lot of the units that i need so i'll stick to the MGE version for now

You can always use the MGE units for the ToT version, and release a graphics patch when you get more...

the problem with the civ-specific units is noone has made italian planes or tanks, i think russia had their own planes,
austria had their own planes,. noone has ever made an italian ww1 plane, even though they were historicly the first nation to use them in war when they conquered libya from the ottomon empire,

all i have left is the units
i will have to rebuild the rules.txt again, , this sucks, but at least i didn't lose everything

i am doing a mojor rethink on the project, it will still have civ-specific dreadnoughts and troopes but the rest will be generic, i also am doing a mojor rethink on various aspects to see how i can make this project stand out in every way possible, it should be interesting to see what i come up with.

i want the scenario to be very open, basicly i don't want all the rules and units designed for 1 specific scenario but able to be used for a couple of ww1 scenarios,
