I hope you're not thinking of pretending to do it for another year so you can get us again...you might as well dangle a baby in front of a starving dingo.

That is as long as it works on my mac
my aumount of time is also limited. However, I seriously believe that if we'd we able to work in a team, the pressure of one over the other will make us to work more.
I'm thinking about .NET.
.NET is a Microsoft plattform that can run both on PC and Visual Basic, and where the compoments are compiled into a middleware language, just like in Java. You could write code in Visual Basic .NET and I can code in C# .NET, and we can join our effort and it *should* work in MAC.
The only problem with all this is how ***** expensive is a .NET suite....
Trying to rehabilitateh and contribuing again to the civ-community
Uh, Merc, is that lightbulb in response to the "April Fool's Continuation" idea, or the "dangle baby in front of starving dingo" idea? I'm not sure which is more evil...

Yes, very true...

Except I don't have VB.NET. And I can't really afford it either, especially since I'd have to upgrade Windows as well.

There aren't any dingos where I live, so just the former.

Not to talk about the huge requirements of the damned suite. It doesn't run slow in my Athlon XP 2000, it just walks

By the way, yaroslav, and anyone else... I had a thought today... What about I start a "Civilization II SAV/SCN file format" thread? I know there's already the hex-editing doc, and some threads in the hints/tips/guides forum, but I'm actually talking about something like my Civ3 BIC initiative, which is still going rather nicely:
That would make the whole thing much more accessible and public. And anyone can easily look things up or add some new discoveries. It would still come down to one person (probably me) to edit the whole thing, but at least everyone will know it's out there, and I can't just keep it hidden away and hope nobody ever asks.
If we ever want to make some decent all-encompassing civ2 editors, the whole format will have to be disassembled anyway, so it would be best to do it now, and do it in public.
