      • In general, I think a lot has been left on the table, so to speak, by not providing for more cities to grow thru celebrations. There is an opportunity cost in lost shields and food from being in Republic and with just a little more attention to the details of Lux levels, worker placement, and white goods, many more cities could have been We Loved larger.

But, as I am reminded, it's just a game.

            • Well, actually, I tried to pay attention to WLTC days, and had lux at 50-60 for several turns, but it seemed that diminishing returns set in (I ran out of money for white goods when the persian demand was filled).

My recommendation for the next leader is SoL, fundy, and conquer, starting with the Sioux, or perhaps the fat Persian cities.

              • You are probably right with that recommendation, Grigor, especially as RR is coming on line next. That will kill the Gardens and make celebrating much more expensive.

I have had a particularly "bad" day and I am not confident I can play a turnset soon. If someone else wants to jump in, please do so. The practice of "calling" a window of time to get the turns in seems to be working out well. So, call the ball.

                          • There are several cities building improvements that have already been built
The ship chain to the Persians is not in bad shape, and the road to the Sioux will be completed quickly. I think we need to grow our cities and prepare for a fundy assault on our good neighbors.

I end these turns feeling like I have accomplished......NOTHING
There is a good railroad in progress and several cities are getting irrigation on the grasses. I couldn't get the cities to grow so I used the celebrations to get engineers without dropping city size. Central city is working on the awful tower because I didn't know what else to do with it. The tech choices are also poor due to the banking and theology techs that keep popping up but other civs (Celts and Persians) have them and a couple dips can take care of that when ready to begin the war machine.

Looking forward to my trip to the institute
