  • Free-for-all Succession Game

This is intended to be a FAST game - the format is experimental so give it your best shots ...

    Rules:
MGE, largest world, raging hordes, Deity

Once the game save is posted anyone except the last four players may pick it up and play - the first log and save published is definitive - anyone beaten to the draw must NOT post their save - but may make rude noises about how much better their turnset would have been.

So somebody - 20 turns the above settings go for it - how many will have played before I come back on line in the morning ? ...

Nope - unless no-one has ventured their arm by the time I next get a chance to play ...

        And We Start

        with an apology...

Yup, a huge map; yup, MGE; yup, raging & Deity, but...

We start with four (count'em FOUR) techs: BW, HBR, IW, & WC.

So I promptly decided to move slowly for our first city, just to equalize the game (a bit.)

-4000 -- Pop the nearby hut (90,28,1) for a Legion

-3550 -- Found Central City (just after popping a hut (88,34,1) for Masonry), Start Alphabet
        -3400 -- Found (the) Flash
-3150 -- Discover Alpha, opt for CB.

I made a tough call -- our capital is a space off of a sweet spot, but in founding in the middle of the three (maybe four) specials, we'd end up with three or four ocean with no port, no harbor -- not good enough for me. So I decided to split this up & start with the whale (missing out on the wine & silk -- but those can be had by founding on a mountain!?)

        Next up is...?

Slow one beat me to it!

I started with 6 techs and ended with two more from huts and two from the Greeks.

I will take the next round if OK with SG.

              Zedd,

As I understand the first post, this is like a free for all. First to finish and post, self selects themselves as "next" in line. Play but play quickly.

                    Grigor,

Save does not load for me. Do you have the patched MGE??

No, I have CivII Gold for Macintosh version 1.0.

Do I need to zip it for PC users perhaps?

Perhaps, -Jrabbit would know for sure. Try zipping it and let's see.

Sorry Zedd (well actually not THAT sorry)

We have a 'weather event' in the DC area, so the Fed government was 'let out' two hours early. Hmmm given the ice expected and our sore lack of ice/snow equipment, safety indicated that a number of us in the private sector also opted to go home early.

So I rushed home, popped in MGE & the rest is history.

(Of course I could have said that I saw [SG 1]'s post & left work early JUST for that reason.)
