    • I've downloaded the game. Unless I'm ill as I was last time I played then you can expect a report and the new save on Monday.

I'm beginning to hope that the rabbit doesn't get too far away because Stu might be after me next. We'll see how the turns go though.....

        • Drama queen!

If I load the game and press return to be greeted with:

The Chinese report they have nearly finished their great wonder: The Statue of Liberty
apart from composing a suitable obituary for -JR, then what direction ought we be looking in? Or is that my call?

[edit]I put a wink smiley in in case people don't get the drama queen joke[/edit]

          • Drama, Queens, Ladies, and Chapels, oh my

Jrabbit doesn't have a monopoly on the DQ title, IMO.

Yes, we're way behind. Yes, SoL is by far the most useful wonder still available in this game - and the way the game has gone, it may be even more important than Lighthouse was.

Even so, we can still win without it. If we lose SoL and get Mike's, Republic/Demo are viable options. We'd have to disband a lot of units, but those disbands would go into Harbours, 'vans, Markets and whatnot.

And if we don't get either of Mike or SoL, we'll still win, though it will be long and painful. But the long arduous games are the most memorable ones, too

We'll probably get SoL, but let's not panic if we don't.

/me in a philosophical moment... and we haven't even discovered Philosophy.

It's 1580--AD--on a gigamap where the AI must now have more than a dozen cities each and the Sivians best unit is Chariot...non-vet of course because there are no barracks. And the location of the AI civs is still to be determined for the most part.

The largest city is size 6 and only one can celebrate at 60% lux. Which is to say, bigger cities (thru WLtPD) would be very good but where is the time and $$ to build temples, markets and courthouses and colosseums everywhere?? Though every city would have a start thru all the necessary disbands. There is no time.

              SOL is a must have!!

                  • If duke has the save and is playing this weekend, just move my position on the play list after him, which is kinda what I thought we were going to do last time, but…

duke, then Stray, then back to our regularly scheduled dissection of Jrabbit's turns.

                      • I've decided to remove this post because it won't have any further bearing on the game and in the slight chance that Straybow hasn't already looked at it then that ought to make things a tiny bit more ethically sound when he plays.

Apologies again all, I'm an .

                          • I'm sorry about the rubbish turnlog, but I was trying (and failing) to build the tension. As I said, it was rubbish.
I also didn't achieve much else in my turns, but did some useful exploring and discovered what I hope could be another civ to the northwest. Carthaginians? I started moving one galleon towards the core cities to help with the camel movement, but by the time it got there it wasn't needed after all so that was wasted for ages. I also fiddled about with the galleon to the south of the Zulus because I didn't want to spend money rushing explorers there when I needed to rush camels back home. At one point I judiciously spent all but 2g, and then spent the time between the discover of Demo and the construction of the last camel at 70% cash and 30% science to try and get back as much as possible for big spending!
Well I spent a fortune and haven't achieved a great deal other than the Statue, but orders is orders so I hope that the rest of you can build on what little I managed and we can start taking some Zulu cities!
