Keep at it, OnS...

Played a turn last night -- lots of stuff to pay attention to. Decided to look around before the click -- in fact went ahead and rushed a half dozen trucks ( all uranium). Then decided to talk to the Chinese (who have 5 techs that we don't.) Alliance disolved immediately.
Hmmmm not fully happy here -- decide to talk to them again -- hey how about a little consideration here? WAR! Declaration on their turn...

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this game. Go ahead and take my turn, I wouldn't know what to do.
Lately I had a problem with a virus. I dropped Norton 'cause it seemed to be clogging things up and d/l'd Grisoft's free AVG. It immediately caught a "Padobot" (Korgo) virus that had been on the machine for weeks right under Norton's noze.(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!

On the subject of this game: a short while ago, I decided to play this one on my own, from the beginning (with the intention of getting back into the mood for Civ). Despite knowing where the islands were, I'm still way behind the AIs in the 1700s (though not as badly off as we were in the succession). So now I have regained a passing familiarity with the map. And all I need now is several hours in which to play 5 turns"I'm a guy - I take everything seriously except other people's emotions"

I'll post the save for now & the log later.
Just a tidbit, the Carts are gone (took the last city on my turn five, so I'll pass this along to six.)
Also discovered that I could have done much more vs. the Mongols in the East/SE. But at least I've set up two boats & troops for that effort & started the navy for the final push up north.Attached FilesThose with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

There was significant "action" for 1930, so maybe that should count.
Besides, in a previous game we limitied the players to taking out only one civ at a time, then on to the next player...
Of course, maybe I have a handicap with time...
Besides, I think I did enough damage for my set of turns.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick Look -- we have 91 cities, Chinese have 24 cities and five techs that we don’t, the Carts have a city and the Mongols have 55 cities. The Chinese also have nine wonders -- most of which are very nice even now.
We have 27 Engineers, 89 Howies, 20 Jeeps, a couple of Tanks, 29 lovely spies and an assorted mix of cameo players. We seem to be netting about $2K per turn. Hmmm a half dozen cities SUPPLY Uranium -- we may want to pursue this.
But wait -- there are a dozen skulls on the surface, and the warning beacon looks very alarming. This may be a considerable risk should we fail to address it.
Make the aforementioned error to talk to the Chinese allowing them to declare war on their turn.
1931 (1) (Enemy forces lose two fighters vs. our Alpine & Aegis Cruiser. They also lose a marine and cruiser vs. our units. We decide to suppress further details of actual units (on both sides) as heroism occurs. Mongols build four structural SS parts.)
Build a half dozen Ur trucks -- deliver one for 288 (not so hot, so we’ll hold the rest until airports and other excitement is in place) Toledo wine nets 202 in Chengdo. Eng on RR detail switch over to Skull removal activity.
Take Cunaxa (size 12 going in…size 2 coming out.) netting 87 coins & Plas.
Take Anyang, gaining ASTC, HD & SETI; 464 coins & Env. sell about 20 Power plants and Hydro plants across the lands (one ai city had both!) Also sell off Police Stations where found. (ASTC is saving about 150 coins per turn -- evidently we’re behind with our infrastructure.)
Take Chengdo, netting 621 coins & Super.
Take Xinjan = 494 & Fusion.
Take Tsingtao = 350 & Recyc. RB a couple of fun in the Sun Plants for pollution reasons.
1932 (We have a VERY wounded BB in the north, noteworthy for standing against 4 Mongol DDs. Gain a skull, but the total is lower. Pop = 47M)
Take Bejing (gov’t to Chinan) +384
Take Tatung, +674
Take Chinan (gov’t to Tientsin) +475
Seven skulls going in, 3 remain.
1933 (+3 skulls --- two in new China lands. pop = 53M.) (Mongrels slay a couple of Eng on the coast (after they got rid of the pollution on the unroaded swamp.) They build another structural.)
Take Canton, +594
Take Shanghai (and Pyramids), +325
Take Cremona, +118
Take Tientsin (gov’t to Shantung), +552.
Empty out five more Chinese cities. Only now do we start thinking about the Mongol fronts -- the Athens group of cities begins to prepare for a transport’s worth of land units + escort for the islets directly north.
1934 (Lose a few units with counter attacks, but in the China theatre, it is shruggable.) Pop = 58M no new skulls -- clean up the ones seen. Sell off 30 granaries (discover a couple of Hydro plants, so granaries are still in Umfolzi & Ruscu.)
Rushed a few port facilities last turn, RB’s a few boats this turn aiming to start a boat chain to N Mongolia -- pop out an Aegis & watch him get sorely wounded vs. a cruiser -- se we RB a couple of BBs.
Take Nanking (and CfC), +598
Take Ningpo, +368
Take Paoting, +188
Take Shantung (gov’t to Issus), +437
Take Naples (rename to Naples C), +120
Take Issus (rename to Issus C; gov’t to Macao), +220
Take Cannae -- now size 1 with the Athens forces. (+25)
Found Gordian on the way to Salzburg
Take Salzburg, +108; also mop up the Mogrel forces which landed last turn N of Panoramus -- a Rifle+, Alpine & Tank (so invasions ARE possible)
Take Tabriz (+31) and the Carts are gone.
------------------------------------
Notes -- a few units are left to move (but there is no place exciting for them to be at this time) We should have at least three boat’s worth of Howies in the North itching to go to Mongolia.
2) Only at the last did I notice that the eastern Isle has a large Mogol city with four+ smaller ones -- two transports were rushed and there are eight units already asleep for that invasion.
3) Still have a few UR trucks stashed around -- we can make a few airports and see if they pay off well enough to get Stealth -- a nice to have.
4) Be at least a little careful about movement -- some of those inner lakes are actually rivered Mountains!
5) I held back on some of the budget (about $12K there now) -- didn’t need much of the forces vs. China (thanks to the previous player). we cans use a few more airports for trade purposes (which I also could have done more.)
6) China is shattered -- there are two cities on the main rock -- both should fall next turn. On the SW island I’ve spied the four there -- only Macao has serious threat. There were two boat chains to the island, but one of the middle transports was sunk, so there may still be a warship about (or it may have disappeared when a port fell into our hands.) the one landed boat’s worth can take out a city per turn, but…
7) Northern Mongolia looks to be about four turns of boat building away. Sorry about not building the shipping sooner, but at least the boat yards are in place and the local shipping should clear the near waters soon. They discovered Elec2 during my reign, so their tech rate is rather embarrassing. Those with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

OnS,
Four turns is fine. I was just pointing to an opportunity for you to do more if you wished. And I agree, that was a very powerful and effective four.
Now to another issue. In the 1931 turn,
Toledo wine nets 202 in Chengdo.
Take Chengdo, netting 621 coins & Super.
This rule has been breeched before, I think. At this late date, it probably doesn't rate more than a
Good turns!!
Monkso long and thanks for all the fish

I don't think the 'no trade' rule violation is a big deal now. I'll rushbuy something for 200 g and then disband it, on my turns.
OK - I will get to this one - as soon as I finish botching up my MarkG game.

Or just rush some things that don't need to be rushed, like the Mech Inf at Seville (81g), Howie at Malaca (60g), etc.I don't think the 'no trade' rule violation is a big deal now. I'll rushbuy something for 200 g and then disband it, on my turns.
What you can't "undo" so easily is the 202 beakers, since we're already at 0% Sci.(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!

Of more import is the fact that I can't seem to unzip the file - is anyone else able to do so?"I'm a guy - I take everything seriously except other people's emotions"

Thanks, Monk... I have the save now.
To recap:
The Chinese have 7 cities and are researching Stealth.
The Mongols have a lot of cities and are researching Labour Union.
Manhattan Project is unbuilt. Everyone does know Rocketry and NF, though.
We are researching, if it can be called that, Stealth. All other techs are already researched.
The Mongols are building a spaceship. They don't know Plastics, Superconductor or Fusion yet, though. Since the Mongol capital is a long way away and we would need to capture 5 alternate capitals to recall their vessel, it would be wise not to let them steal any of our techs (e.g. from Canne SW).
I'm disinclined to attack the southern Mongol colonies because that would just open us up to tech theft (unless we can take them all in 1 turn). Accordingly I'm going to build an invasion fleet around Bergen, and ship it to the Mongol homeland.
Any suggestions? How many turns are we playing for, now?
BTW, did you guys like the map? I was quite proud of it at the time (last November??)."I'm a guy - I take everything seriously except other people's emotions"
