      OMG!!!!

Just back from a business trip (ironically, to the UK) and opened this thread...

I can't begin to express my shock and sadness. Ivor (with Stu) welcomed me to succession gaming. He counselled me with practical knowledge, strategic wisdom, and his trademark wry, clever humor. My life, both online and off, was enriched for having (virtually) known him, and will be the poorer for his tragic death.

To Stu and (3), I offer my sincere condolences. Would that I could offer more.

To (2), I wish godspeed and a peaceful eternal rest.

I never knew SG(2), but whenever I saw a post from him it was clear he was well respected and a friend to many here, many who I would consider friends as well.

Que reste en las memorias de todos que lo conocian.

I don't visit here often, but this was the first civ-forum I checked out, and SG(2) is one of the few posters I remember. I'm sorry

Forgive me, words just seem inadequate

When i first stumbled upon the apolyton forum I had previously been a member of the civ fanatics forum, and what drew me here is the energy and passion for the game that I found in many of the posts. SG[2] was among the most fervent Civ 2 players and masterfully played, or rather dominated, every area of the game. i would login just to read some of the SG's posts and learn from thier posts, SG[2] was the first person i emailed my questions too and he encouraged me to make an effort to learn more about the game and become a better player, which has now played into my RL, bringing to light a knowledge hungry part of my mind I had never given any thought to.

I was joyed to hear of the addition of SG[3], and saddened by the loss of SG[2], he was a central part of what has become an online "family" and will be deeply missed.
