Looking for PBEM game

I had the same problem with wrapping my head around Willem van Oranje being English!

This is...almost correct....right?

1.  Start "Beyond the Sword"
2.  Choose  "Multiplayer"
3.  Choose "Direct IP connection"
4.  Choose correct settings to play this game:
     a) Type in player name (Giwi)
     b) Type in Game name (Full Frontal Nudity)
     c) Type in IP address to connect to (bigfree.game-host.org)
     d) Type in game password (Alba)
     e) Click on "Connect" and wait for the game to connect.
5.  Choose your Nation/Leader; You are Player #3 (Ghandi)
6.  Enter in your own personal Password for the game (It will ask for you to enter it twice)
7.  Wait for the game to upload game data to your computer.
8.  Wait for your computer to set the game up.
9.  Play the game
10. Make sure you hit the red button that says "End Turn" just like in a regular game.

Now, go to Civstats and register yourself as playing Ghandi for this game. I will not go into all of the details of doing that. If you can't figure it out on your own....

No, they were set randomly by the game. Enjoy.

At the risk of confusing the issue, I've always found that in step 4, player and game names don't matter.

If I run more than one game, then the game name matters.

As far as player name goes, it makes it so everyone knows who's who. Makes diplomacy outside of the game plausible.

First turn is on a 120 hour timer, 36 hours after that - so they have only a couple of days left to get started.

What is worrying me is that when I log on I get a message that my game files do not match those of the host. It doesn't seem to cause a problem at the moment but is a bit disconcerting. I recently switched to a Vista PC and have BtS patched to 3.13 so I'm not sure what is going on here?

I get that too - does not seem to be causing a problem.

The ingame clock is down to 0 - so I thought maybe we were being held up - but it seems not.

I would not worry too much about the message concerning files not matching the hosts's files. This is normally due to the host using stream down load files or some type of mod files...this shouldn't have any effect on the stability of the game itself however.
