    IMO about spy missions:

    My first choice would be a mod which increases the cost of civic changing missions

    second choice: civic changing is banned

    third:spies fully on

    Since most of us wants to keep the game unmodded i'd go with the second, so yes we should ban civic changing missions. I agree with RB's view that they are unbalanced.

        Sommer's point though is that if we vote for full ESP then we can use that as a bargaining chip to get other settings we want.

          I don't see the way we could bargain. Every team has its preference which is the preference of the majority of their members. Too bad that some can't accept that the settings for he game wouldnt be ideal for them and backmailing the rest- still we shouldn't vote on settings we don't actually want (I personally don't like the idea of spanish mod either, but if the majority wants it then good)

            I wouldn't quite call it blackmailing... just negotiating. But it doesn't look like we'll really need to do that. The only issue that seems to be close in the vote is the vote for the Spanish mod, and as it stands now Team Apolyton is against it (though I hope we reconsider!), so there wouldn't really be much we could negotiate on.

            I updated the vote totals above with our votes (so far) on difficulty, barbarians and victory conditions. Here is our totals (or best guesses):

              I still hope I can convince some people to vote for the double move mod! It looks like a great way of solving something that is ALWAYS an issue in games. Please consider it!

              And it looks like we are tied when it comes to barbarians. Four votes for raging hordes, four for no barbarians at all.

                  Again I totally agree with Ben

                  The double move mod is no biggy though..

                  And on barbs: raging barbs does undermine the accountancy approach on civ which some of our competitors have: so it is in our advantage to have them "raging against the machines'

                      One more point, since we currently stand at a 4-4 tie on Barbarians, how should we handle this?

                      If it remains a tie I will report that we want normal barbarians. But if we break 5-4 one way or another would people prefer we go with the slight majority or pick normal barbarians as a consensus option for our team?

                            Not just no, but, hell, no.

                            Yes.

                            Yes, of course, the game isn't worth playing if the dip****s outlaw everything other then being little Hitlers.

                            5. Huts/Events?

                            Yes, lots of huts and events plus raging barbs.

                            6. Corporations?

                            It's part of the game and best of all 90% of the MP players traditionally ignore these parts of the game so it gives us an advantage to keep all of this sort of stuff turned on.

                            7. Barbarians?

                            Not just on but raging hordes. That way when the war mongering dip****s don't defend their cities (because they've made a stack of doom to attack the neighbor) the barb hordes can rip them a new anus.

                            8. Difficulty?

                            Emperor

                            9. Victory Conditions?

                            All including diplo. No one will win a diplo victory but the other victory conditions are going to be things the other guys never play with online so that means it will be easy for them to forget about them while we use Liz to max effect and sneak one in the back door.

                              Outlawing double moves is assumed. The question is whether we enforce that on the honor system, by voting, by reloading, by arguing OR by a mod that takes care of automatically.

                                The mod is fine.

                                BTW is there an option to allow tech trading but no tech brokering? That way if one war monger gets to far ahead the world can fight back. Since we're likely to have a peaceful build strategy (Phil, specialist strategy) it might be key for us to toss a few techs to the other guys to frustrate the war mongers.
