Agree with German statements above... We really just need a 40 hour turn TBH... But hey... This whole jumbled up clustersf@$& of confusion is actually quite fun too kind of like playing an MP game with blazing timer...only in pitboss form.

The Inca feel they should DoW on England and Neandor both now just to confuse things even more Perhaps not best for the peace talk chair to be at war with both "sides", but perhaps it is more fitting!

Inca are primarily fighting to keep the game peaceful, even if that is at odds with game participation Huayna Capac is a peace builder! This should not be surprising. The lack of wonders should be, though
Also, Inca are well aware that England's score gave an inflated sense of their "dominance". The fact that the Neandor just waltzed over and took a couple colonies, and the Vikings took their core cities in a few turns, sort of proves it...
But... He who controls Sydney controls the world!!! Oh dear, what a threat the English, with their undersized army and slight tech backwardness posed to Europe as a whole. Any day, their musketmen and longbows would have poured over the borders and razed Neander or Venetii, perhaps even Moscow, so great was their reach and strength! Yes, perhaps even a dozen crossbowmen could have invaded Gozzo... oh dear, think of the consequences of letting that go unrestrained!
Inca do not like to see undermilitarized builders attacked. It is unsettling for us, and war is bad for trade. The balance of power is now out of balance, this concerns us. We like to see things balanced and peaceful, not imbalanced and violent. It is bad for business.

I still can not understand why Russia, Ottomans, and Inca and who knows who else are fighting to keep England at the top...
And second of all, England is no more at the top, so I cant see how we try to "keep" them there.
Anyway, is being at the top a good reason for your neighbors to dogpile you? Then I must start to prepare myself too
Actual 2 vs 1 and conquering the mainland of any nation is a thing the just Russia will be against.

Lets be straight here now please, that 2 vs 1 is getting old now. For the record Vikings could have taken care of the English homeland on their own. I guess England could state the same, there is plenty of Vikings in those lands to go around and finish whatever Englishmen is there.
But i can't hide the joy seeing our allies the French come and join us and finish off some Englishmen
So beware with the Russian propaganda, sounds more like a broken record now. It is more of a strategy look else while i engorge. I am the largest civ, but hey do not worry when the time comes i will make it quick and painless for you now my little friends. Lets get rid of the ones I can't fool and are in my wayLast edited by Vikings (DoE); April 3, 2011, 08:16.

Yes, even without knowing the details everyone can imagine your joy of double-working the English.
My statements may start sound like a broken record, but your total lack of a sound for the outcome of this crisis is what is disturbing here.
I have nothing to beware from, as the truth is on my side. In fact, you are the villains and you must be afraid. In fact this is a lousy way to try to scare me and those who support me for opposing you. For you it may be best everyone to stay calm, low and mute, so the things to just stay as they are - the beaten is beaten and the fuсked is fuсked, but you are the one who must beware as everyone have eyes, and everyone have their hearts to tell them what to do, and what is right to be done.
State your position in the peace negotiations and dont try to scare me off, for who draws a knife, from a knife dies.

There seems to be an undercurrent here about keeping the game balanced and fair but the real diplo world doesn't work that way.
Diplos are not builder games.
The Vikings attacked and looted the Saxons for wealth and land (and a bit of fun I daresay); the Romans conquered the Med and so on...
Diplos are the same. You use diplomacy and stories to expand your game play within the agreed rules. Beyond that we all exercise our own judgement and we all have to accept each others judgement - no point banging the same old drum OOC, UNLESS a rule is broken.
Mind you, a sense of humour is allowedThe question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.

[OOC]
I am complaining and shouting only IC, I know that a good player must not complain about the course of the game and accept the possibility to lose someway, somehow. I know this is just a game and I am playing it. This is how I imagine the mighty Russia would react as a world power and this is what my Just Catherine would act. If you feel that I am banging the drum or I am frustrated, this means I am playing the diplomacy and role-playing well
BTW, kudos to England for not calling for a Measured War violation and continuing to play the game as a man, as there is simply a rule violation. I would do the same myself and I am doing the same now, by trying to make what I think is right with only in-game measures.
Only thing is bothering me OOC is that the game is perverting in a regular MP pitboss. None of the aggressors actually made some story why they attack, what they want, neither they stated their vision about the possible and acceptable peace. Some dialog, discussion maybe... Just OOC bandy words. If we were going to play it this way, and the sheer land, military power and teaming-up is the measure for success and rightness, I guess I was going to be quite more stronger at this point
While talking about Diplos and stories, Neandor, you, as the main critique for Russia's intervention in the Mongol-Chinese war and worrying about the lost diplo-spirit, what is your opinion on the Vikings never actually posted a single story post in the whole game?
You are right that everyone have his own judgement, and mine is this that
1. I must honor my agreement with England, by helping them fight their aggressors
and
2. A major world power is crippled in a well planned conspiracy, so I cannot just wave away with hand and don't bother about it. If now we let this pass, no one will be safe from now on. If a mighty nation as the English can do nothing about defending their homes, what about a smaller nations? Of course they will support the one, who is trying to give the world some security
In fact, if we look in pure game terms, I am far better now, being at number one, and one of my direct competitors - England - being hopelessly crippled. Also I was going to be far better with keeping my warm relations with France and the Vikings as your trio is the strong of the day and we even were going to be the "Magnificient Four" who can dictate our will to the whole world. Alas, this is how I feel and this is the situation
And last, I agree with you, that we all have to accept each others judgment, so please, accept mine.

Yes this thread is better than the story thread sometimes... Speaking of which... Thank you so much France for that beautiful story about the massacr... ahem... I mean "battle" of "Tangiers" (that was actually closer Carthage and ended with the razing of Carthage).
All joking aside, it was a beautiful story post, and I was glad to see it, because I was going to try to write up the recent fighting but I just didnt get around to it. So you saved me the time... your story was probably better than mine could have been anyway... Thanks
Oh and BTW, is there any voting this Month? I didnt get any notice about the voting... That happens at the beginning of the Month right?Last edited by Ottoman Empire (DoE); April 3, 2011, 10:19.Mexico Emerges as a New Player on the International Stage - Mexico City Times
