Impassable deserts and mountain ranges to the south, Chinese likewise have stolen land close to my capital on the East, there is room for one city to NNE of capital and I have settler almost finished for that. So no use for settlers, only the Keshiks I anm beginning to build.
Well, the idea of giving you help was because out-of-character you was unable to play the game for some time and your substitute played it bad and decided that I will help the balance to be restored. You can take the help I am offering without any obligations for me in game terms.

In- character you can act in every way you think is appropriate, but dont complain in the forum, that I am "stealing" something which you decided not to claim and use until now. Am I wrong that I decided to build army and settlers, you decided to build wonders. Now normally, I have cities defended by lot of soldiers, you have Pyramids and huge culture-claimed, but unused territory. Also, your second city is built 6 or 7 tiles away from your capitol in my direction. I read about your sub placed it not where you wanted, but this with your creative trait effectively denied any settlement for me in Central Asia east of Ural.

I wrote to you several times in-character offering you my friendship and asking for regulating our relations. You never bother to answer me anything. I know, some of those messages you may not receive because of your sub not passing them to you, but there was at least 1 or 2 messages in your Apoliton inbox, which you must saw for sure, dont blame me for playing the game.

To sum up, this settler is promised to the out-of-character-UN to help Mongolia or India completely out-of-character. You guys can decide where to send it. No bad feelings from me Just dont mix the IC and OOC feelings.

I always thought the correct order was civ4 -> 3.17 -> BTS -> 3.19. Pretty sure you need at least one patch before installing bts, otherwise civ4 doesn't seem to recognize it.
Yeah, no, that's not how you want to do it. The order is Civ4-Bts-patches. You don't need any patch before installing bts, and I've installed the whole shebang more times than I can count and it always works without a glitch like this. And remember, don't start anything up before everything's patched up, and download the patches separately, don't use the in-game updater.

        • You just only need to install 3.19 patch, then it's all patched.
That's how all my civ clients including my pitboss servers are installed.

          • 8h turn timers are ridiculous. When are we moving to 12h? I miss a turn every other day if I go late at work, and some days, like today, that means I lose a city to some BS.

Aren't we advanced enough now to get 12hr? I have constant barb issues, I'm effectively at permanent war here with the AI on my own continent... whinge. AI got a double move. Do I get a reload?

But what is the exact math behind it? Population or cultural expansion and at what stages?
The question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.

There was a voting before the game start - the results are in the original organization thread, but I will appreciate a bit longer turns too. even 10 hours gives us 4 more hours to play the next turn if we are late at work.

Every 1000 years or it was 100 turns they exist their output multiplies. Or something like this, dont know the exact numbers.

                  • 10hr is perfectly fine. 8hr is killing me, though. I think we're past the stage where we need to speed through the turns because they're all just "enter".

I know I havent been around much and for that I apologize but I must agree with Inca on this one. I dont have the time I once did to just sit and wait for the turn timer to change and although I and not under serious barb attack like others the shorter timer is causing me to miss more turns then I want.

Ok. I can go with that. But in effect, an 8hr turn timer is more like a 12 to 16hr turn timer in reality. If you play near the start of one turn, you have 16hrs to get your next turn in. It takes a bit of planning, and if you know you are going to miss a turn, give orders to workers and units. All that being said, 10 is fine.

Just remember that there is a direct relation between game speed and the general level of interest. Applies to all forms of MP.

                          • You are correct Joan, but last week for me it was like half hour left on the timer before I must go at work and then after 10 hours I return and I am miss turn for sure.
8 or 10 is not that drastic, and yet gives the people freedom to go at work

Yes. I agree. Not much of a difference and if it helps people play their turns, then I am all for it. And I have to admit, there are times when I too struggle to make the deadline. So 10 hours is good.

(Until of course, England finds some other weenie excuse to declare war on me.... )
