  • The PYT site shows the Arabia (sub) as having logged in and out multiple times. This has not been me. I logged in once earlier to play the turn - when it shows the turn as being played. What is happening with the other log ins????
What was the date? Does it show how long they were logged in?

It might have been me. The problem I am having now is that just when it gets to the point where I should be able to play, two error messages pop up for half a second then the game crashes. Think I am going to have to video record my screen then read the error on pause.

    • Just as a point of interest, I also sometimes get a message that Civ is going to lower my graphics to match my computer, which I find odd considering I have a high end rig.

Are you patched up? I recall that as being a bug that went away with the last patch...

        • @Arabia: please follow up on my last PM, that way we find out what your civ version is and if you're using the right patch.

            look here: http://www.playyourturn.com/?page_id...86&playerID=12

It was on the edge of november 21st and 22nd (on the PYT server).
You weren't logged in for more then a minute. It doesn't tell the number of seconds. It could have been 1 or 2 seconds.

            • I'm standing by and will continue to play Arabia's turns until told otherwise. Can't afford to miss a turn. Barbs on the move.

                  • Thanks again France. All this happened while others were posting about barbs flattening cities, not that I worry about that but there were some workers floating around.

Yes, that error was with the old patch. One problem I ran into was the ingame updater downloading the patch and saying it was installing it, but not installing it.

This last error is interesting. Something about the MODS folder and I think administrator rights or some windows 7 BS.

                    • So, are you set to go?

Yes, the barb axe would have had easy pickings of a spear and at least one worker.

I think it's about pixels. If you have different resolution settings in Civ v Win 7 it makes adjustments.

I have Win 7 on 2560/1440 AND the same in the Civ prefs. I no longer get that message you speak of..
The question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.

Don't use the in game updater, it's ****ty. The best way to install civ4 is to install civ4, then Beyond the Sword, don't start the game, then download patch 3.17 and 3.19 separately (you can find the links by googling, or on gamespot), first install 3.17, don't start the game, restart computer, then install 3.19, and then you can start the game. Having installed civ 4 many many times, I find that this order of doing things gives the best results. If you get admin errors, it can be several things. One way to sometimes solve these is by starting up the game as administrator (right click on the shortcut, select "run as administrator").

                              • Here is my latest error. That image is from my video camera since it crashes the game too fast to read it otherwise.

                                Any ideas?
