Destiny of Empires [Diplo Game] [Organization Thread]
It needs Hebrews to say if it makes a difference and whether he wants a reload, but the sooner the better.
Also note that the good form for taking/destroying early cities in this game seems to be that the attacking party donates at least a settler to the victim. This the game organisers and/or myself imposed in the case of the neandor. This is to preserve good form and everyone's fun.
So I will be annoyed if other civs don't do the same.
Neandor had to donate a settler and a unit to the Gauls for the sake of this. This means Neandor had to waste 10+ turns building a settler in our capital so spoils of war are a bit limited.
But it did allow the game to continue although it is a new Gaul player.
Please pay attention to this as Neandor had all the upper hand and followed a clear strategy only to be cut back considerably.
But this is better than people being unhappy or leaving.
The question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.
Well, I was gambling a bit by placing my city there. I knew that in advance.
I do not blame the Arabs for destroying it, neither do I blame the Ottomans for threatening to do the same.
It's my own decision to place a city at a very disputable place.
I just did it for story reasons. I love it to play the Hebrews and Jerusalem for these reasons.
And look: the dispute is already there!! hehehe
But it's already hard enough to keep the city up. I'm in very hard negotiations with the Ottomans.
I'd be willing to negotiate it with the Arabs as well. I have stuff to offer them.
Anyway, it's already hard enough, double moves are too much.
I have an axeman that would be in time to save the city. If I would have moved before the Arabs this turn then the city would not have fallen most probably. (I do not know exactly how the Arabs moved to the city, but if they walked the most probable way then my axeman would have stopped them)
So to answer Germany: yes, I think it makes a difference because I have an axemen.
And I do not blame the Arabs for burning my 2nd city. I expected an attack. ( I expected to win the fight though, I think the odds were on my side. but bad luck is a part of the game)
I am reloading the game right now with the autosave of the current turn.
that means that all players will have to replay the current turn.
The reload was requested by Egypt (if I understand him correctly.) and the double move was confirmed by Russia.
I am reloading b/c of an 'obvious' double war move:
From the rules:
03. Wartime Double Moves
a. Civilizations that are at war have to observe the turn order. The turn order is set during the first turn of the war. If the invaded party played first in the turn before the war started, then the agressor must let him play first in the next turn as well before he can declare war on him.
The Arabs moved last in 1075 BC, did not logout and then moved first in 1050 BC, razing the city, according to the PYT log.
That is against the rules. Egypt should have moved between these two Arab moves.
According to the rules the host can reload immediately if a 'breaking of a rule is obvious', which I have done now.
I also made a save so the Arabs can ask for a pause and discuss the matter if they think that there was no double move.
02. Rule Breaking
When rules are being broken the game will be reloaded. The host can reload immediately when a breaking of a rule is obvious. If it's not obvious to everyone the game will be paused (again) and conflict handling will be effectuated.
If anybody disagrees with this please say so.
Like I said, there is a save so continuing from that save is also still possible if I made the wrong decision.

server crashed immediately. reloading again.
My machine is having a hard time running 2 pitboss servers AND a lotus domino server.
Everytime I touch it it crashes. I hope it'll continue to run now.

A wise move. Pausing quickly always loses us less time than a large row. He might even think that because there is a war the turn counter will have been extended. In any case, although I have no sympathy for double-moves, the world now looks different than when he last looked at it, and its fair he has a chance to notice, adjust or comment.
